Living in Orange County, California, the Mighty Ducks were my local hockey team. I can remember when they first came to Anaheim. In fact, if you watch the movie, The Mighty Ducks 2 and you pause the movie and go through frame by frame in the crowd scenes, you’ll catch a glimpse of an 11 year old me wearing a black and white striped long sleeve shirt, dangle earrings and HUGE pink glasses. Oh yeah, I was so cool! I loved watching the fake team play a fake game of ice hockey. Nine years later I worked as a security guard behind the penalty box for the REAL Ducks team.
Hockey fans are fun and loud! They LOVE the game and their players. Pan Am Plaza in downtown Indianapolis is host to most of the Indiana Ice Hockey games but other times they are held at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. With youth tickets as low as $9 and adult tickets starting at $11, everyone should go to at least ONE game (each season). Kids 2 and under are free and there are discounts for members of the military and seniors.
The hockey season begins in early fall and goes as late as April. For information about our local team, the Indiana Ice, visit their website!
