I’ve mentioned before that Lulu LOVES wearing her boots and cowboy hat so our family is so excited to have a real reason she can dress that way! The Hoosier Horse Fair is back at the Indiana State Fairgrounds April 5th-7th and here are four reasons you should go visit at least once!
1. The Kids Corral – Giant rocking horses, face painting, coloring, pony rides, a petting zoo and some other activities especially for kids! I absolutely love it when event planners remember the smaller kids in the family and make a special space just for them!
2. The Stick Horse Barrel Race – Kids can grab a stick pony and race around an obstacle course trying to get the best time! It’s just like real but it’s pretend! The Stick Horse Race takes place at 2:30pm on Saturday, April 14th.
3. Cowboy Mounted Shooting – You’ll think you are watching an old western movie as contestants dress up in clothing from the late 1800’s, mount a horse and compete in a timed event that is full of action — shooters engage with 10 targets using TWO .45 caliber revolvers (with blanks) WHILE completing an obstacle course with their horse! Fun and entertaining for the whole family! Check out this event a t 2pm & 5:30pm on Friday, 2pm & 4:30 on Saturday and at 11:30am on Sunday.
4. Hoosier Ranch Rodeo – Have you ever been to a rodeo? We haven’t yet but we keep saying that we will! Why not visit either Friday or Saturday at 8pm and check it out! $5 for General Admission or $8 for Gold Seats.
Advance tickets for the Hoosier Horse Fair are on sale at Marsh/Main Street Market, Rural King, and Indiana Farm Bureau County Offices for $7 for ages 7-12, $12 for 12 and up. Children 6 and under are free! Ticket prices at the gate are $9 ages 7-12 and $15 for 12 and up.
