The Indianapolis Opera has many productions year round. Currently, their outreach opera is Jack and the Beanstalk. This opera travels around to schools and other places in the community to introduce children to the joy of opera. Have I ever told you that my husband is a former opera star? Yes, as a child he was the star in several operas so our household will never be devoid of this experience and neither should yours!
Jack and the Beanstalk will be performed for free on Saturday, May 19th at 11am at the Basile Opera Center (4011 N. Pennsylvania , Indianapolis). Seating is plentiful and tickets are not needed but seating will be on a first come first serve basis. This opera will teach children about the importance of family, friends and sharing with others.
Following the show, the artists will have a question and answer session with the children. The show runs about 45 minutes and rumor has it that there will be refreshments available. We’ll see you all there!
