Almost 10 years ago, on my 21st birthday (this is probably the only time I will ever tell you my age), I flew from Southern California to Indianapolis, Indiana to interview for a job. While I was in town, my soon to be future employers introduced me to all things Indiana — including the State Fair. For this reason, the Indiana State Fair is very special to me; it had a part in convincing me to move to Indiana, where I met my husband, bought a home, had a few different jobs, completed my college degree and have been raising my two beautiful babies. When I look back to my interview week, I have fond memories of elephant ears, lemon shakeups and the ferris wheel, as well as the families that I spent time with and got to know.
The State Fair is one of the best parts about living in Indianapolis and EVERYONE should go…every year…more than once. To do that, our family has to look out for the special discount days and free opportunities to attend. Fair admission is free for kids 5 and under and $10 for everyone else. Luckily, there are several great deals out there;
Discount tickets can be purchased for $7 at Indiana Walmart stores, Indiana CVS/pharmacy stores, Indiana Farm Bureau offices, The Marten House Hotel and Indiana State Fairgrounds Ticket Office.
The Multi-Day Admission Pass is good for one admission for up to three different days throughout the Fair (August 3rd -19th). Visit Indiana Walmart stores, Indiana CVS/pharmacy stores, Indiana Farm Bureau offices, The Marten House Hotel and Indiana State Fairgrounds Ticket Office to purchase the pass for only $18.
On Monday, August 6th, purchase the Indianapolis Star for a ticket for free admission on Wednesday, August 8th or Thursday, August 9th.
