Not only do so many of the holiday events begin early this month, but they SELL OUT in November! You’ll want to check out the special holiday train rides below and get your tickets NOW! Do not wait! There is a reason that my children have never been on a Polar Express Train Ride in Indiana, or a Polar Bear Express Train Ride in Noblesville or any sort of Christmas Train Ride! We even considered driving to French Lick for their Polar Express Train Ride for kids but that was sold out too!
A lot of the Christmas train rides are more than a ride! The kids will hear stories, experience the ride, sip hot cocoa and then actually exit the train at another stop (the North Pole) to see Santa. The train ride to the North Pole is just long enough for excited kids!
THE POLAR EXPRESS rolls into Connersville’s Grand Central Station (about 1 hour from Indy) this Holiday Season. The Polar Express will come to life when the train departs Connersville’s Grand Central Station for a journey through the quiet countryside for a special visit to the “North Pole” with Santa Claus. Tickets are $29 per person age 2 and up. Dates: November 15th, 16th, 17th, 22nd, 23rd, 24th, 29th, 30th, December 1st, 6th, 7th, 8th, 13th, 14th, 15th.
If $30 is just a bit much for the budget (I hear ya!), the Santa Claus Limited is only $7 per person. It only runs three times and only on ONE DAY! Santa Claus will board the train and visit with each child. Ticket are available NOW for Friday, November 29th.
The POLAR EXPRESS will depart from the Fishers Train Station (presented by the Indiana Transportation Museum). Snowflake, the beloved polar bear, greets passengers at Fishers Station before boarding the Polar Bear Express. Santa and Mrs. Claus lead an interactive experience on the train and passengers are served a snack and beverage. ITM offers two different ticket prices and experiences. For $25 (passengers 2 and up), ride from Fishers to Noblesville and back again with Santa & Mrs. Claus. Snack on a juice box, a cookie and a candy cane and receive a small gift from Santa. For $30, visit the NORTH POLE in Noblesville and enjoy hot cocoa, a cookie, a candy cane and small gift from Santa. Dates: Nov. 30th, Dec. 6th, 7th, 8th, 13th, 14th, 15th, 20th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd.
French Lick is home to the Polar Bear Express experience. Dates: Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, November 8th – 15th, 5:30 and 7:30pm departures. Once the train is underway, the conductor will punch your ticket as the book, The Polar Express, is read aloud and enhanced with song and dance by our crew, with a special Cookie & Hot Chocolate presentation, just like in the movie! When the train pulls into the North Pole, we pick up Santa Claus himself and he presents each child with their own “first gift of the season”, a shiny silver sleigh bell. You will also be entertained by Santa’s elves with interactive songs and dance that everyone can participate in. Children and parents are encouraged to wear their pajamas.
Binford Polar Express The magical ride begins at Steinmeier Station, then travels to Fishers and on through Noblesville’s town square to the “North Pole” located at the Indiana Transportation Museum in Forest Park. Santa and Mrs. Claus will ride with you the whole way! At the “North Pole” the Polar Bear will board the train for the return trip and will visit with each of the children. During the trip everyone will receive hot cocoa and a cookie. All children will receive a special gift from Santa. $30 PER PERSON ALL AGES 2 & UP Children under 2 ride free but MUST sit on a lap. The pick up point is at Steinmeier Station Office Plaza, 5501 East 71st Street. The train pick up platform is located behind the office building. Parking is available in front of and behind the Steinmeier Station office building. Children are encouraged to wear their pajamas, but please dress the children for the outside weather. Walking from the car to the platform and waiting for the train at the platform could be very cold! All coaches on the train are heated. For more information about the train go to http://www.itm.org or call the ITM office at 317-773-6000 and leave a message. Tickets for the 71st Street stop must be purchased on line through the link in this document or through the BRAG website link on binford71.org.
