Devour Indy | Kid Friendly Restaurant Options

Devour Indy is back and we’re ready to get out there and enjoy some of the 100’s of restaurants participating this season. Or maybe it’s 1000’s? There are a lot!

January 20 – February 2, 2020 are great nights to skip the home-cooked meal and opt for something new! Restaurants participating in the Devour Indy Winterfest restaurant week whip up a special menu of two or three course meals at a discounted price. There aren’t enough nights to enjoy every single restaurant, so you can fit a few more in with their discounted lunch menus too!

The menu choices are typically adult size portions but we have a list of kid friendly restaurants that the whole family will enjoy!

Family Friendly Restaurants in Downtown Indy

You might have a few other additions to this list and we’re happy to add your suggestions, but here are some of our favorite restaurants to bring our kids along with us. Find a whole list of Devour Indy downtown restaurants on the Devour website.

Downtown Indy Family Friendly Restaurants: BRU Burger Bar, Claddagh Irish Pub, Ember Urban Eatery, Fogo de Chai Brazilian Steakhouse, High Velocity, MADD Greeks Mediterranean Grille, Mimi Blue Meatballs, Napolese, PF Chang’s, Punch Burger, Roosters Kitchen, Sahm’s Place, Soupremacy, Upland Brewery, Weber Grill Restaurant

Family Friendly Restaurant Spotlight | Weber Grill

Weber Grill is a delicious place for the whole family. Not only do they have a great line up for Devour Indy, but the have a gluten free menu and a children’s menu with the typical children’s menu staples, plus BBQ pork ribs, steak skewers and famous Weber Grill burgers. My family loves Weber Grill because of their open kitchen area where kids can watch food being prepared through the glass barriers. Sometimes the chef will even pop over and chat with them about what he’s doing.

Family Friendly Restaurant Spotlight | Soupremacy

This local soup shop cooks up the best made from scratch soups every day. Pair their flavorful soup with your favorite panini and you’ll be in heaven. My kids and I love to share the Pizza Press but as a Parks & Rec tv show fan, I’m all in on the Swanson Press of Greatness with a side of tomato bisque soup for dipping. Dine-in on the patio with a great view of Monument Circle or grab it to go and make a picnic of it.

Family Friendly Restaurants on the North Side

There are a lot of wonderful restaurants on the north side of Indianapolis and Devour Indy brings the best of the best forward. If you’re looking for some awesome date nights, choose any of the restaurants listed on the website, but if you’re looking for a hit for the whole family, these are our top picks for this season of Devour Indy.

Family Friendly Devour Indy Restaurants: Bazbeaux Pizza, Benihana, Big Lug Canteen, Bru Burger Bar, Four Day Ray, Mashcraft Fishers, Mimi Blue Meatballs, PF Chang’s, Sahm’s Ale House, Stone Creek Dining Company, Squealers Barbecue Grill, The Melting Pot, North End BBQ, The Table at Market District, Woody’s Library Restaurant.

Family Friendly Restaurant Spotlight | Mashcraft

When Mashcraft opened in Fishers, we didn’t really think about it being a great place to bring our family — until we did! The tater tot basket, the Bavarian pretzels and the churro basket are must-haves for everyone to share. With $5 kid sized menu items that include a drink and a side, everyone is happy. Kids menu includes: Kids Mac & Cheese, Kids Chicken Strips, Kids Cheese Pizza, Kids Size Slider.

Family Friendly Restaurants in Indy Midtown

Midtown is pretty much our neighborhood. We’re lucky to live right in between the International Marketplace food offerings and the vibrant midtown restaurant scene. While we have our favorite choices, here are some that we recommend for families during midtown. The rest? We have yet to try!

Family Friendly Restaurants in Midtown: Diavola, Greek’s Pizzaria, Liter House, Napolese Pizzeria

Family Friendly Restaurants West Side of Indy

I think the west side is often overlooked when central Indy families consider where to eat. Not only do they have many of the same restaurants we love in downtown Indy, they have some pretty special ones too! Trust me when I tell you that the nachos at Tacos & Tequila on Main are to-die for!

Family friendly restaurants on the west side: Boulder Creek, Bru Burger Bar, Charbonos, Claddagh Irish Pub, Grindstone Charley’s, Oasis Diner, Stone Creek Dining Company.

Family Friendly Restaurant Spotlight | Oasis Diner

The Oasis Diner is one of the top picks for our kids. Their food is so good, their treats are even better and the ambiance and history at Oasis Diner are unmatched. The staff are some of the most friendly, kind-hearted people you’ll meet (this is pretty important to us when we’re dining with four young children.) The Loaded Disco Fries are on the Devour menu, which is great because I would have told you that they’re a must when you eat at Oasis. Plus, the handcrafted sodas (yep, on the Devour menu) and anything from the dessert menu. Oh, and kids eat free on Mondays!

Family Friendly Restaurants East Side of Indy

The East Side of Indy doesn’t seem to heavily participate in Devour Indy restaurant weeks, but we’ll keep looking!
