During the Summer, Lulu and I went to check out the Sunken Gardens and Conservatory at Garfield Park (2505 Conservatory Drive, Indianapolis). You know the cool thing about a conservatory? It’s open year round and plants are growing indoors and it’s warm and it’s beautiful!
This winter, take your whole family to enjoy the conservatory because it’s decorated with poinsettias and model trains that are running and traveling all around and through train villages among the gorgeous exotic plants and trees and thousands of twinkling lights!
My kids love to walk the gardens, see the reptiles in their terrariums, look for fish in the ponds and spot things in the train villages using the i spy sheet provided. I recommend visiting in the evening so that it’s dark outside (and maybe even snowing). Watch for extended hours to be announced, generally they take place the week of Christmas.
The cost to see Conservatory Crossing is $3 per person or $8 for your entire family. Did I mention it’s warm in there? And they have a chocolate tree? And a vanilla ice cream tree? Hours are Monday – Saturday from 10am to 5pm and Sunday 1pm to 5pm.
Come enjoy our winter wonderland! See the Conservatory decked out in its holiday best with a brilliant display of poinsettias and enjoy model trains, train village and thousands of twinkling lights.
Individual Admission $3
Family Admission (2 adult max.) $8
