Before I had children I had no idea what a consignment sale was, but wanted to learn more because I love a good deal! Well, it turns out children’s consignment sales have been the best thing to ever happen to my wallet since having my boys.
The Indy Kids Consignment Sale is coming up March 10 – 12 at the Hamilton County Fairgrounds in Noblesville. The sale will feature toys, books, strollers, furniture, baby gear, and racks and racks of clothing from newborn to teen sizes – and much more! I was skeptical before attending my first sale, but I assure you that you can get nearly new (and sometimes even brand new!) items for a fraction of the price of a normal store. I often leave each sale with a haul and a huge smile on my face.
The other perk of consignment sales, besides the awesome deals, is the option to become a consignor yourself. This means you not only have early access to the sale to get the best selection, but you can get rid of clothing that no longer fits and old toys and gear, at the same time. Registering to consign is easy – simply sign up online, pay the $15 fee via PayPal, and you’re ready to start entering your items into the system. You set the price for your own items and when they sell receive 60% of the sales price, just like that.
If you want more of a commission you can choose to volunteer for shifts at the sale and even earn more for referring shoppers – making your commission as high as 75%! After the sale you can choose to pick up your items or have them donated to The Good Samaritan Network, instead.
If you don’t choose to consign, you can still purchase a presale ticket for 5:30 p.m. entry on Wednesday, March 9! Presale tickets are on sale. Visit the website and/or Facebook page for more details.
The Indy Kids Consignment Sale is a great way to save money AND make money at the same time! Be sure to check out the 2016 sale, running March 10 – 12, at the Hamilton County Fairgrounds.
Wednesday, March 9: Presale for volunteers, consignors, and presale pass holders
Thursday, March 10: Open to the public 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.
