holiday shop for kids

There’s a sweet kind of shop popping up around the holidays where children can shop for their loved ones. Instead of taking them to Target for Dad and hoping they don’t pick something expensive that he doesn’t need or want, consider one of these area Santa Shops. Children come into the store and select gifts for Mom, Dad, siblings, teachers, grandparents – anyone they need to cross off the shopping list. Many of the shops don’t allow adults but have helpers to assist children with their lists and payment. Gift wrap is usually available, the selection is manageable for the youngest set and the prices are manageable for parents. If store bought isn’t your child’s style check out the DIY Workshop option!

Carmel High School

After 35 years of the Business Class students running Santa’s Secret Shop, it will not return in 2017. A cafeteria remodel has made it so the space is not conducive to this program.

Zionsville Public Library

The Secret Snowflake Shop is open for business for the 4th year in the Lora Hussey of the Zionsville Public Library. A variety of gift options will be available for $3 each and kids through grade 5 may bring their shopping lists. Assistance is available from the Friends of the Library and gifts will be wrapped. While they wait parents can shop the holiday books and crafts located just outside the Secret Snowflake Shop.
