We spent Sunday at an outdoor food festival (Dig IN) and had a fantastic time but there were a couple of things I wish I had done differently since we had kids. I wish Lulu had napped before we went, I wish I had fed her before we went or brought some snacks for her, I wish I had applied sunscreen BEFORE we got there and I wish I had brought the Snugli baby carrier so I could wear baby Scout. Oh, and a hat. I wish I had brought a darn hat for Lulu, I ALWAYS seem to forget it!
This weekend (Friday, August 31st-Monday, September 3rd – beginning at 11am each day) is another fun Indiana food festival. The Rib America Festival takes place at Military Park and thank goodness there are trees for shade there! In addition to the delicious BBQ you are sure to enjoy, there will be live music including a performance by Cheap Trick and so many others.
Parking is available at IUPUI (there may be a small fee). Picnic blankets and chairs are permitted at the event. You may not bring in food or beverages with the exception of ONE factory sealed 20oz water bottle per person.
Admission is free for kids 12 and under all weekend, admission is free for everyone before 5pm on Friday, and before 3pm Saturday-Monday. Admission is $7 per person after that time. Tickets for food, beverages and games are $10 for 7 and $5 for 3. CASH ONLY! Food prices vary but here are some examples of past prices for food:
