Spring is in full swing, and that means there are LOTS of awesome opportunities for home educators, both inside and outside. Here are the ones we think you won’t want to miss this April.
April 5 and 19 at 1:30 pm
Parent educators are invited to join their children at the Franklin Branch of the Indianapolis Public Library for special activities designed just for homeschoolers!
April 12 at 3 pm and April 16 at 1 pm
Come out and compete in the Rain Gutter Regatta! Learn more about physics as you build and race sailboats powered only by the wind. All supplies are provided and no registration is required.
April 14 and April 25 at 1 pm
Have a great time doing egg-related science experiments and learning more about science and engineering. This event is $10 per child, and kids can stick around and make a tie-dye creation for 20% off.
April 18 at 1:30 pm
School-aged kids can get out in nature, learn more about recycling, and decorate their own reusable shopping bag to help preserve our environment. This event is $6 per child and registration is required.
April 3 at 11:30 am
Kids in grades K-3 can learn all about the Scientific Method through the senses, observation, and inference.
April 12 at 10 am and 1 pm
Learn more about the history of basketball, as well as how math and science play a role in Indiana’s favorite game!
April 17 at 1 pm
Great blue herons are nesting! School-aged kids can observe them and take a hike in the great outdoors. This event is free but registration is requested.
Fridays at 2 pm
Every Friday, homeschoolers can head to the Garfield Park Arts Center for a special time to get creative! Classes are $5 per child per week, and parents must accompany children under 13.
