In the past month our family has spent time on more than 6 farms. What can I tell you? There’s no better place to be during the fall months! It’s harvest time, the weather is just different from most any other time of year, other people are out on the farm and our kids just LOVE running free-range. I love parks, my kids love parks but there’s something about a farm that just lets your imagination run all over the place, your feet start moving and the next thing you know you find yourself exploring, doing things your never thought you’d do, saying things you never thought you’d say. It’s just natural — like you were MADE to be in that space, in that time.
Fair Oaks Farms is one of the biggest farms that I’ve visited. On any given day you’ll have a great time, your kids will want to stay when it’s time to go and for a second, you’ll even think about joining the farm. On Saturday, October 19th, Fair Oaks Farms will host an event called Cowtoberfest. Cows + October + festival like atmosphere with so much fun = Cowtoberfest.
On the 19th, visitors to Fair Oaks Farms will get to participate in Trick or Treating, a costume parade, a Radio Disney performance and all of the regular Fair Oaks Farms events. Check out the Pig Adventure too! Starting at 11am, the pumpkin patch will open and at 5pm, adults can visit the beer garden! At 7pm, there will be a live concert featuring Chris Cavanaugh.
Fair Oaks Farms Adventure is open Monday-Saturday 9am-5pm and Sunday 10am-5pm. Bus Tours begin at 10am Monday through Saturday and at 11am on Sundays. Don’t forget about that pesky one hour time difference. Although, it allows for sleeping in an extra hour! Admission: Kids 2 and under – free, Kids – $14, Adults – $20, Seniors $18, Active Service Men and Women are free. Admission includes the Dairy Adventure AND the Pig Adventure (new for 2013) AND Mooville.
What’s Mooville? Jump on a GIANT jumping pillow, climb the 25 foot milk bottle climbing wall, ride the trains and tractors and more in the Mooville outdoor play area. Open weekends only though October 28th.
TIP: I recommend spending the few extra dollars for a two day pass. The two day pass allows you to return for a second visit anytime in the same calendar year.
