For some, Disney on Ice is one of the markers for the new year in Indianapolis family life. Each January, Feld Entertainment brings their road show to the ice at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Families and school groups align their schedules to get field trip seats, a group of friend for the show or to introduce their children to their favorite Disney characters, in person. It’s a thing within the Indianapolis parenting community. The Indianapolis Disney on Ice show for 2021 is “Dream Big.” Spectators will love seeing scenes from Moana, Coco, Frozen, Aladdin and the Disney Princesses.
Disney on Ice Pods in Indianapolis
Disney on Ice will be in Indianapolis for 12 shows January 13-18, 2021. With COVID on everyone’s hearts and minds, it’s likely going to be a smaller audience than the packed Fieldhouse usually plays to, but that’s a good thing, because seating is VERY limited for 2021 because it’s arranged in a “pod” situation. Guests can purchase seats in pods of two, three, four, five, six or eight. You must purchase the entire “pod” or group of seats designated for that area. All children over the age of two must have a ticket.
Pods are separated by a row in front of you and a row behind you as well as by isles or multiple other seats. Guests are not permitted to sit in any seats that they do not hold tickets for. Check out what the seating situation is below. At the time that we visited the Bankers Life ticketing site for Disney on Ice, the blue dots were marked to indicate seats available for sale, the gray dots indicated that guests already purchased these seats and will be seated there and the circles with a line through them indicate that guests will not be seated there.
COVID Health Checks for Disney on Ice
While some venues are requiring temperature checks/entry screenings prior to entry, at this time Bankers Life Fieldhouse does not require this. Instead, they are entrusting the responsibility of wellness checks in the hands of guests. Adults are asked to check the temperature of each member of your party before arriving at the arena. If anyone has a temperature of 100.4° or more or is not feeling well, please stay at home and follow CDC guidelines. Feld Entertainment has a flexible ticket exchange policy if you need to alter your plans due to illness.
Face Coverings at Disney on Ice
Guests will be required to wear a face covering while they attend Disney On Ice. “All guests age 2 and older are required to have a ticket. Unless otherwise exempted by law, guests must wear a face covering except when actively eating and drinking – local venue rules also apply. Violation of ticketing policies will void your tickets.”
Merch at Disney on Ice
This is one change that we would LOVE to see stick around long after we stop planning around the Coronavirus, merch is available for pre-order! After you purchase your tickets, stick around and select the date and time you’ll be attending and then fill your cart with the items you would like to buy. On the day of the show, present your mobile order info at the mobile order area and look at you, no lines! During the show, you can also order merchandise on your mobile device and then pick up purchases at select locations within the venue.
What if Disney on Ice is Canceled Due to COVID?
Due to present circumstances surrounding COVID-19, the event status is subject to change. In the event of cancellation, you will receive a full refund.
Disney on Ice Character Experiences
In the past, we’ve been able to be a part of character meet & greets and our children were even part of the show last year! We’ve also awarded several families with an opportunity to appear on ice with the cast during the show, but this year, that’s not the case. To support the safety and wellness of the performers and crew, Feld Entertainment has temporarily halted Disney On Ice character experiences, including guest interactions and meet and greets.
