Don’t miss the IRT’s latest children’s cabaret show with storybook favorites Elephant and Piggie! With a full schedule of morning and afternoon shows throughout February and March there’s sure to be a time that works for all. Rest assured, this show goes beyond entertainment for the toddler set, elementary aged children will share the enjoyment of this quality performance which is recommended for children 3-8.
This show is a part of the Indiana Repertory Theatre Exploring Stages series, where families can enjoy theatre together, even with young children. Exploring Stages presentations are the perfect space to introduce young children to live theatre and get comfortable, learning to enjoy stage performances.
As usual, the IRT impresses. Wonderfully expressive actors connect to the audience with songs and silliness, and simple yet colorful costumes and a bright backdrop literally set the stage for a performance you won’t soon forget. Gerald and Piggie sing, dance, and keep you laughing in this entertaining performance, complete with a backup trio of “Squirerelles”.
Laura says that this show was really special, “Big brother (age 7) has been reading the books to his little sister at night before bedtime. The actors were wonderful and really connected to the kids and the kids to them!”
“The costumes were colorful for the “squirrels “and although simple yet appropriate for piggy and elephant. It was really cute. And I have to say they brought such enthusiasm and energy to the stage! They really brought the books to life! Oh the singing – they all have such beautiful voices! Very talented and the set was just like in the books- we all found it perfect that we had to look for the bird . “
