PLEASE NOTE: Using a GPS will NOT get you to Johnson County Park. Use these directions only.
Indy with Kids fans are always interested in a train ride for their kids that won’t cost too much.
How does a $3 ride sound?
Your family can ride on a miniature version of a real steam train on a track through forests, over bridges, along creeks. Take a 20 minute ride aboard this awesome train in Johnson County Park.
Park and board at the platform at the McClain Cabin. This is such an awesome experience! Wear play clothes and closed toe shoes. Admission is cash only. There’s really not anywhere to eat, keep that in mind and pack a lunch and snacks. Don’t forget water and sunscreen!
The trains run and are open to the public the third Saturday of May, June, July, September and October, 12pm – 4pm. They are also open during the Heartnut Festival.
Hope to see you there!
Things to keep in mind: Trains cannot transport infants, pregnant women and people weighing more than 350 pounds. Children under 5 years of age must have their own designated adult. Kids ages 5-7 must have an adult ratio of 1 adult for every 2 children and kids 8 and above must have one adult for every three children.
