Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Park

Join Indy Parks and the Kennedy King Memorial Initiative as we celebrate the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Experience the DVD of April 4, 1968, when Robert Kennedy gave his speech from this location. That speech is credited with keeping the peace in Indianapolis as other US cities were in the grips of riots and disorder. Hear firsthand accounts of crowd reaction and the impact it has made on Indianapolis history. Visitors can also participate in a “Love & Peace” art project.
