Whether you’re hoping to explore caves, write a fairytale, or make maple syrup, we’ve got lots of fun activities just for homeschoolers in February!

  • If you’re up for a road trip, every weekday in February, Indiana Caverns is offering a special homeschool rate. Come in anytime between 9:00 — 2:00 and receive $5 admission for kids ages 4-12 and $10 for 13 and up. Minimum of two paying children per adult.
  • Every Monday and Friday in February is Homeschool Day at Marengo Cave in Southern Indiana. It’s about two and a half hours from Indy, so a little trek, but might be worth it to take advantage of deeply discounted walking tours in their caves. Prices are $7.75 per adult (13 and up) and $5.75 per child (12 and under) for one walking tour, or take both walking tours for only $8.75 per adult and $6.75 per child. You can show up anytime between 9:00 — 5:00 to take advantage of this deal.

February 1 & 2

Homeschool Day at Monkey Joe’s. Now you can take advantage of the homeschool rate of $5 on the first and third Mondays AND Tuesdays of each month. Take advantage of this deal anytime during business hours at either Castleton or Greenwood location.

February 2

Homeschool Tuesday at Indiana State Museum. This week’s theme is Fossils. The cost is $3 per student and you can register by calling 317.232.1637

Home School Open Gym at Gymnastics Unlimited. 2:00 – 3:30. Get some exercise and have fun bouncing in bounce houses and trampolines. Open to homeschool families of all ages.

February 4

Homeschool Bounce at BounceU. A new addition this month! BounceU Fishers is offering an Open Bounce just for Homeschoolers on the first Thursday of each month. This all-ages bounce takes place from 10:00 — 2:00. You must register in advance on their site or by calling 317-567-2129.

Homeschool Adventures at Franklin Road Branch Library. 1:30. This program is designed for homeschool students ages 6-12 and their parents. Free, no registration required.

February 5

Family Open Gym at Jaycie Phelps Athletic Center. 12:00 — 2:00. Families with children of all ages are invited to come out for a fun open gym time that includes exploring trampolines, foam pits, and challenge circuits! $5 per child, max. $15 per family.

February 11

What Adventure Awaits You? at the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis. 10:00 — 11:30 or 1:00 — 2:30. Inspired by the new Pirates and Princesses exhibit, you’ll learn all about literary history and the inspiration behind your favorite stories. You’ll also create your own fairy tale, family crest, build a catapult, and take part in a program about storybook forensics. This program is geared towards children ages 4 and up with a registered adult. The cost is $4 for member adults/ $8 member youth, $5 nonmember adults/ $10 nonmember youth.

February 12

Family Open Gym at Jaycie Phelps Athletic Center. 12:00 — 2:00. Families with children of all ages are invited to come out for a fun open gym time that includes exploring trampolines, foam pits, and challenge circuits! $5 per child, max. $15 per family.

February 15 & 16

February 16

Homeschool Day at Indiana State Museum. 9:30 — 2:00. This is different from the State Museum’s biweekly homeschool classes. Homeschool Day offers projects throughout the museum on a specific theme, this time’s theme being Indiana Preserves. You’ll learn about preserving historical items from staff not just from the museum but also from staff from many of the state’s Historic Sites. The cost is $10 per non-member student, $7 member student, and free for educators. Register by calling 317.232.1637. There will also be Levi and Catherine Coffin Educational Theater in the Auditorium at 11:30.

Homeschool Hikers at Cool Creek Park & Nature Center. This free hike is open to all ages (best for school age). This month we’ll learn about making maple syrup! Meet at the Nature Center. Register by calling 317-774-2500 or emailing cool.naturecenter@hamiltoncounty.in.gov.

February 24

Homeschool Maple Syrup Day at Southeastway Park. 10:00 — 12:00 or 1:00 — 3:00. Learn how to tap a tree, how maple syrup was made in the past (and how the park makes it today), and sample some yummy maple treats. Dress to be outside. The cost is $6 per person, ages 3 and up.

February 26
