September is one of the most exciting months for homeschooling families! A new school year means so many new opportunities, and with the help of local museums and parks, you’ll never have to worry about that s-word (socialization) at all!
September 15: RAD Science at Indiana State Museum. 9:30 – 2:00. Learn all about the science of sports and check out their new exhibit!
September 15: Homeschool Day at Conner Prairie. All day. Families can enjoy Conner Prairie at the group rate without having to gather a group!
September 15: Home School Open Gym at Gymnastics Unlimited. 2:00 – 3:30. Get some exercise and have fun bouncing in bounce houses and trampolines. Open to homeschool families of all ages.
September 17: Homeschool Adventures at Franklin Road Branch Library. 1:30. This program is designed for homeschool students ages 6-12 and their parents. Kids will be split into two groups (6-8 and 9-12) for educational activities geared toward their abilities.
September 18: Homeschool Skate at Skateland. 11:30 – 3:00. Roller skate to family friendly music in an event just for homeschoolers.
September 24: Digging in to Archaeology at the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis. 10:00 or 1:00. Learn from a real archaeologist about how scientists can learn all about the past by digging in the dirt. This is a great hands-on program designed for kids over 4 and their adults.
September 24: Home School Day at Wilbur Wright Museum & Birthplace. 9:00 – 5:00. Visit the birthplace of Wilbur Wright to learn about where this inventor of flight came from. Home School Day offers more than fifteen exhibits and hands-on activities for homeschool families of all ages. For more details on cost, check out my post here.
