FREE Entry to National Parks – Indiana Has Three!

Our family loves the park, however it’s pretty difficult explaining to a two year old that just because there isn’t a swing set or a slide doesn’t mean it isn’t a park! I know that there aren’t any National Parks in Indianapolis but Indiana has THREE National Parks. For real. Three!  Many of the National Parks are free year round but two of the Indiana National Parks charge — not this week though! Visit any national park in the nation for free admission April 22nd-26th for National Park Week.

Indiana Dunes has got to be my all time favorite park in Indiana. I haven’t been to the national shoreline, I’ve camped at the State Park but this weekend would be a nice time to check out the Dunes! Generally, you’ll pay  $6 per vehicle to enter but Saturday it’s free! (1215 N. State Road 49, Porter, IN 46304).

George Rogers Clark Memorial commemorates the American Colonel where we could all learn a thing or two…. or two hundred. This site is free 365 days a year. If you happen to be anywhere near Vincennes for the weekend, why not stop by? (George Rogers Clark National Historical Park, 401 S. 2nd St., Vincennes, Indiana 47591 ~ 812.882.776ext.110)

Lincoln Boyhood Memorial Generally, admission is $3 per person or $5 per family (3027 E South St, Lincoln City, IN 47552 ~ 812.937.4541). Saturday, it’s free!

Every September you can take your family to ANY National Park and get in for free for Public Lands Day.
