There’s something about airplanes and kids. For my little guy the fascination began early—before he could even talk he would point to the sky and squeal with excitement every time a plane few over. Even as an adult, planes are just cool. Watching a jet thunder across the sky, with a tail of white clouds outlining the sky.
In Indy, we’re lucky enough to have the Indy Air Expo! This annual event returns to the Indianapolis Regional (Mt. Comfort) Airport on September 9 & 10 and is a fundraising event for the Indianapolis Air Show Foundation, Inc. benefiting our Indiana Children’s’ Hospitals. Bring your children—or inner child—out for a day of family fun and exhilaration. There will be a kid zone, food vendors, plane rides, and of course, lots of plane demonstrations!
Part of Indy Air Expo’s mission is to educate children on the importance of math and science in aviation, so your future aviator can get up close to the planes and ask questions of the pilots and crew. Best of all, Kids 15 & under are FREE with an adult admission!
Each day, gates open at 8 am, with opening ceremonies beginning at 10 am. Check the schedule for complete details of the day. You can buy your tickets online for $30 for two tickets. Mark your calendar for September 9 & 10 and make this your newest family tradition!
