It may be the last real month of summer, but we have Indianapolis area date night ideas for days! We’re here to help you plan a whole month of amazing date nights…WITHOUT your kids. Grab your spouse, your partner, your sister or your best friend — we have lots of ideas for all of you!
Play: Indiana State Fair
Stroll down the midway, smooch on the ferris wheel, peruse the photography exhibits (for as long as you want), take a photo together in the photo booth at the Glass Barn, watch the circus show in the Big Top Tent, eat whatever YOU want, check out Indiana Beer, Wine & Spirits in the Grand Hall. There’s a lot of fun at the fair for all ages — even WITHOUT kids! Here are some great discounts and free* days at the Indiana State Fair.
Girls Night: Condado Tacos
Be WOW’ed: Cirque du Soleil
Corteo, the latest Cirque du Soleil’s arena production, will be in Indianapolis for seven performances, August 22 – 26 at Bankers Life Field House. The cast of Corteo includes 51 acrobats, musicians, singers and actors from all around the world and you have to see this amazing show! Get your tickets now.
Eat: Devour Indy
Devour Indy is a city wide restaurant event that runs for two weeks, twice a year. This summer, more than 200 restaurants are offering three-course, value-priced menus to visitors from August 20 – September 2nd. We have the scoop on our favorite restaurants to take our children, but when it’s just the adults, we like to try new-to-us restaurants. On our list this month? Festiva, Burger Study & Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurant. There are even fun cocktails created just for the occasion!
Dance & Sing: Concerts at Ruoff Home Mortgage Music Center
This venue has been HUGE in my social media feed this summer. It seems like every week there’s a fantastic show that everyone is going to. The month of August is no different! Among the shows, on August 5th, Charlie Puth’s “The Voicenotes Tour,” my personal favorite AND where you’ll find me on August 9th, Rascal Flatts and Niall Horan on August 26th. The links to get tickets for each of these shows are below.
Rock Out: Million Dollar Quartet at Beef & Boards
I had no idea what to expect when we saw Million Dollar Quartet on stage at Beef & Boards Dinner Theater, but this week I’ve been recommending it to everyone! The musicians that take the stage to share the story of a collaboration between Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Elvis Presley, are some of the most talented people I’ve ever seen on stage in Indy! We rocked and we rolled, all while enjoying a beautiful, award winning dinner buffet. This show runs through August 26th. Get your tickets here.
Stay Cool: HoiTEA ToiTEA
HoiTEA ToiTEA is a tea drinker’s paradise + they have delicious snacks and lunch. But there’s more! We tried two of the signature events that HoiTEA ToiTEA is quickly becoming famous for; Tipsy Tastings & Treats and The Art & Science of Creating Your Own Tea. At the Tipsy Tastings event, guests learn about infusions and pairings while drinking a champagne tea cocktail (paired with a macaron), tea infused bear (paired with a warm cookie) and tea infused sangria (paired with a scone and devonshire cream.)
During the tea blending class, you’ll learn about the history of tea, how to create a good tea blend and brewing techniques. Finally, you’ll create your very own custom tea blend to drink and take home.
