My son loves to create, tinker, invent and build with anything he can get his hands on! One of his all time favorite activities is to build with LEGO. He is always looking for imaginative ways to create something new out of them.
Lucky for my son, and the many other children that love to create and build, the Castleton Square Mall LEGO Store offers a FREE monthly Mini Model Build event in their store. We recently attended this very popular event, and it was definitely worth the visit!
We arrived about a half hour before the event began and the line for the free monthly Mini-Build wrapped around along several other stores inside the mall. I was amazed at the length of the line. The people at the front of the line had been waiting an hour before the start of the Mini-Build event.
While we waited in line, there were many parents that were keeping their children occupied and happy with games on tablets and phones. A few employees of the LEGO Store went along the line to greet patrons and pass out the Mini-Model for the month (a koala bear). Some patrons continued to wait in line with their mini-model to build at the store, and others chose to exit the line to build theirs at home.
The employees also shared information about upcoming changes to the program, attendees will be able to register for this monthly event and remove the agony of waiting in long and time-consuming lines.
This new process will completely eliminate wait times and lines!
More good news! When you register for the event online, you will be able to choose between two different days by reserving your spot on the first Tuesday or first Wednesday of the month, and there will be multiple time slots to choose from on either day. This will provide people more flexibility and offer an improved LEGO building experience at this event!
For the monthly Mini Model Build, registration opens on the first Tuesday of the month at 9:00 A.M. EST and is open for one week or until full. In order to participate, guests must be between the ages of 6-14 years old. All guests will be expected to complete the build in the store under this new system. Registration is on a first come, first serve basis. Stores will no longer accept walk ups on the night of the event.
