10 Indianapolis Area Apple Orchards for U-Pick and Fall Fun

U-Pick Apple Orchards in Indianapolis

From August to October, Indianapolis-area families can visit a u-pick orchard and enjoy the experience of picking their own apples from a tree! Apple picking is just the beginning of the fall fun available in the Indy area, but it is absolutely a highlight.

Every apple season, my children break out their Barbie Sweet Orchard playset and act out our adventures at the apple farm. If this isn’t enough of a sign that our kids love going apple picking, then I don’t know what is.

Children of all ages love the different colors of fruit on the trees and the crispy sound an apple makes when you bite into it. There’s an excitement to finding the perfect fruit, enjoying it, and dreaming about what will become of all of the apples you pick. Some of the best local farms have frozen apple cider slushies that make a warm day feel cool and a cool day feel just right. If it’s chilly out, warm up with hot apple cider or warm, fresh apple donuts. There’s more to the local apple farms than just picking apples. At most, you’ll find entertainment, food, and even places to play.
