The Produce Mom is an exciting new brand, growing public figure and spokesperson for the global produce industry. That in itself is cool, but Indy with Kids is especially excited about The Produce Mom because she is an Indianapolis mom like you and me!
TheProduceMom.com is a super helpful website for moms, dads and everyone to learn more about how to select, store and prepare fresh fruits and veggies in your home. There are tons of recipes, information about the availability of produce (seasonality) and how-to tips.
The Produce Mom’s blog is a realistic look at food and life. You’ll hear passion and commitment. The Produce Mom is not some crazy workout addict, organic disciple, dietician or doctor. Lori Taylor, the woman who IS Produce Mom has worked at Indianapolis Fruit Company for over 8 years and describes The Produce Mom as a blend of her life as a consumer (just like you and me) and a produce industry professional. In other words, she’s a mom that knows a lot about fruits and vegetables and she’s educating us about fresh produce with relevant messaging.
Find Your Favorite, is a recently launched community service program, at Indianapolis Public Schools. Everyone in the local community from Paul George to Dance Kaleidoscope is helping the Produce Mom to help spread the word that ALL produce is good for you. In addition to making new friends and spreading the word in the Indy area, the Produce Mom has been involved with many international marketing campaigns and partnerships featuring some of the industry’s top products and brands including Earthbound Farms Salads, Sage Fruit Biggest Loser Apples, Northwest Cherries, Vidalia Onions, Dole Pineapple and more.
Quite often you’ll find contests and giveaways on TheProduceMom.com and on the Produce Mom social media pages. Follow along, the prizes are great and the information is really useful. Tonight (Thursday, July 18th) there is a twitter party at 9pm EST. Check out the hashtag #IHeartCherries.
No only is The Produce Mom online but she is a regular contributor to the local news affiliates and an entertaining guest on Indy Style- and with her vast social media following, there’s a chance you already know her. But if not, check her out. She’s a lot of fun and we’re thankful to welcome The Produce Mom as a supporter of Indy with Kids in our efforts to get families out and about in our great city–living, learning and eating well.
