Call the babysitters. It’s time for a night out. Touring the city with our families is amazing, and while we love taking the kids out to play and dine, sometimes the adults need time to play. We don’t have to tell you that Indy is a perfect place for date night. Here are some great ideas to experience an adults-night-out in Indy in November!
Beef and Boards is showcasing Into the Woods until November 20th! This Stephen Sondheim spin on the modern fairy tale is a perfect reason for a date night! We’ve seen the stage adaptation at Beef and Boards, and it’s definitely not a super appropriate show for the kids, so take advantage, and enjoy a delicious dinner (or lunch!) and entertainment.
November 1: Take a romantic walk through White River State Park, or enjoy admission to most of the attractions at a discounted price for Community Tuesday.
November 5: Discover the Downtown Franklin Holiday Open House in Franklin, just south of Indianapolis. This free and festive event offers shopping, vendors, food, prizes, special offers, and a chance to breakaway and reconnect.
November 5: Three words. Indy. Donut. Festival. This is an event that requires tickets, and the first session is sold out, so get your tickets to the second session ASAP! This event is considered a festival event with a coffeehouse feel. Donuts, music, and coffee! It all happens at Speak Easy on Winthrop Avenue.
November 8: Haus Music is being featured at the Athenaeum Theatre for this unique concert. The theatre itself has German roots, and this concert explores German music with both modern and period instruments. You will also get an up close and personal education on instruments at the “instrument petting zoo.” This would make an amazing night out for the couple that loves music and music culture.
November 10-12: The 2016 Indy International Festival returns to the Blue Ribbon Pavilion at the State Fairgrounds. This event allows you to travel the world without leaving Indy! Entertainment, art, culture, food, educational experiences, displays, and a true culturally diverse experience.
November 15-20: Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella is playing at Clowes! Grab a date and experience the timeless stage show. While this is also a family performance, we’ll be giving away a 4 pack of tickets for the November 15th performance. If you’re looking for a fairy tale night out, this is your chance!
November 18: Carmel Clay Parks & Recreation invites the public to its Murder Mystery Dinner at the Monon Community Center. The event is open to adults ages 21 and older! It’s a built-in date night! Oh, and registration includes a 4-course meal and drink ticket! If you’ve never been to a murder mystery, this is your chance. It’s so fun! Register at carmelclayparks.com.
November 18-19: Enjoy a cozy night at the Historic Artcraft Theatre in Franklin while watching the classic holiday movie, Holiday Inn, starring Bing Crosby, Fred Astaire, and Marjorie Reynolds. This is a very inexpensive and nostalgic night out. Who doesn’t need one of those every once in a while?
Visit a museum: Indy offers tons of museums that are free or cheap, and make a great adult day out. You can take your time through the museum, without kids, and maybe even find a local coffee shop to snuggle before heading back to the babysitter. Check out: Eiteljorg, Indiana State Museum, Indianapolis Museum of Art, and the Civil War Museum at the Soldiers and Sailors Monument .
Go to a movie at the IMAX: If you go to the Indiana State Museum, catch a flick on the huge IMAX screen while you’re there! November has some great movies on the reel. By the way, if you’re a fan of Harry Potter, you can now buy advance tickets to see Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, which releases in November!
Take a brew tour on Indy Brew Bus! It’s a great way to visit downtown Indy, while also getting to know the craft breweries that our town has to offer. Taste samples and have a blast with other adults on this tour!
Remember to always tag #IndyWithOUTKids on your adults-only outing! We may feature you on our social media sites!
