Fall is here and the calendar is filling up with fun activities both inside and out. Explore the season with some of our top picks for October. Send us a note if there’s something we missed.

Carmel Clay Parks and Recreation – Special needs kids can explore the gorgeous West Park for unbe-leaf-able fun. Kids will crunch, jump, and discover the different types of Fall leaves by going on a color scavenger hunt, playing in nature, and tracing native Indiana leaves. Cost is $6. This program is available for preschoolers and school-age children. Registration is required.

Adaptive Youth Fun Night | Carmel Clay Parks and Recreation
Oct. 4 from 6pm – 9pm

Children who attend will enjoy a fun night with friends. The fun will include swimming, eating dinner and watching a movie. Registration required.


October Special Needs and Adaptive Activities

2019 Down Syndrome of Indiana Buddy Walk

Oct. 5 from 10:30 am – 2:30 pm

Join Down Syndrome Indiana in enhancing the lives of individuals with Down syndrome by joining their annual Buddy Walk. Enjoy the festivities after the walk, including live entertainment and a kid’s activities tent.

Sensory Friendly Hours | Sky Zone Plainfield

Oct. 7 from 6 pm – 7 pm

Sensory friendly jumpers can enjoy a low key bounce time at Sky Zone Plainfield on the first Sunday of the month from 6-7 p.m. Admission is just $8 (not including socks.)

 

Boo Bash (Including Sensory Area and Teal Pumpkin Booths) | Nickel Plate Amphitheater

Oct. 26 from 10 am – 1 pm

Children of all ages are invited to Boo Bash on the Central Green and at the NPD AMP. This year’s event includes over 50 vendor booths for safe trick-or-treating, fang-tastic giveaways, bewitching live entertainment, and more. Teal Pumpkin Project booths will provide non-food items and there will be a dedicated sensory area for children with special needs.
