Last year we bought a “trailer” for our bike. You know, the kind where you strap your kid in, pull down the wind fly and attach it to the back of your bicycle and pedal like the wind? Well, Lulu was hysterical while she was being strapped in, screaming and crying and I was of course trying to comfort her and explain what was going to happen. None of that was working. Within seconds, Jay took off on his bicycle and Lulu started giggling and shrieking with joy! JOY! From terror to joy in 3 pumps of the bike pedals!
It’s cold out but that’s no reason to stay inside and miss out on exercise and sunlight! For the second year, Mayor Ballard will lead a free bicycle ride that starts at 10am on Saturday, January 5th. Registration and check in will begin at 9am. This year the Polar Bear Pedal ride will start at the Indy Bike Hub located in the east wing of the City Market (222 East Market Street) and will highlight bike lanes and facilities Downtown and on the Southside. Participants will enjoy a casual 10 mile bike ride that will loop back to the Indy Bike Hub.
T- Shirts will be available for purchase the day of the ride.
