The Rock Camp is an all-summer, all-day camp for kids entering grades 1-5 in the fall. As a ministry of Community Church of Greenwood, The Rock Camp is not just another daycare alternative but a safe, creative, and dynamic summer experience. It is truly your answer to the question, “what are the kids going to do during the summer?”

The Rock Camp fits your schedule and offers safe, age-appropriate, engaging programming for your kid, all day long and all summer long. It’s less stress than stringing together multiple care options, more affordable than a babysitter, and more enriching for the whole child than any other option.

The Rock Camp is held on the campus of Community Church of Greenwood, 1477 W Main Street, Greenwood, IN 46142. Most of the camp activities will take place inside the church building, outside on the sports fields, or at The Gathering Place, a large sports and fitness facility that is owned and operated by the church. The Gathering Place is located on the church campus. Each week we will also take fun field trips to places around town like the movie theater or a local park.

The Rock Camp begins Tuesday, May 28 and ends Friday, July 26. If your child needs an additional week at the end of the summer, you can add on one week, Monday, July 29 – Thursday, August 1. The cost is an additional $100. The Rock Camp is every Monday – Friday, with the only “off day” being July 4. The camp opens each morning at 6:30am and daily structured activities start at 9:00am. Daily structured activities end around 3:30pm each day, and campers must be picked up each day before 6:00pm.

A $99 non-refundable registration fee reserves your kid’s spot at The Rock Camp. And then the weekly cost is just $100 per week for 9 weeks. That is payable in full ($900) at the beginning of the summer or in monthly or weekly payments leading up to the start of camp. All field trips and special activities are included in your weekly payments! If your kid’s school starts later, an additional four days of camp can be added to your child’s summer from July 29 – August 1 if your school starts later. The additional time is an extra $100.

The Rock Camp is open to all kids entering grades 1-5 in the fall of 2019. The camp staff is a group of highly trained, vetted, and competent camp counselors whose sole summer mission is to give your child a rockin’ camp experience. The director of The Rock Camp is Kristen, a mother of two young kids and the Kids’ Ministry Coordinator at Community Church of Greenwood.

Is this a Christian camp?

The Rock Camp is a ministry of Community Church of Greenwood. We believe in the importance of spiritual growth in our children and the integration of Biblical values into everyday life. We will begin most days with prayer or devotions, and expect Christian attitudes throughout all activities. While some days will be focused more on fun and activities, we do believe that campers will grow in their relationship with Christ and the application of their faith into their relationships with others. You do not have to have a church connection to come to The Rock Camp.

Who are the staff and how are they screened?

The Rock Camp hires high school graduates and college students to work as counselors for the entirety of the summer. All camp staff, counselors, and church staff are background checked and have gone through specific developmental training before the camp begins.
