I’m the typical mom who gushes and “oohs” and “aahs” over everything my children do. Aren’t you? You must be, I’ve seen your Facebook status’ about potty training and crawling and first days of school. Don’t worry, I’m the same. Thank you to Gerber for sponsoring this post and letting me boast about my baby.

It doesn’t matter that James is my fourth child, he’s still absolutely brilliant in my eyes. I KNOW that most babies crawl at the same age he is (many of them started way earlier) and I know that a lot of them have their teeth and yes, your child is pulling up on furniture too. None of these developmental facts make any difference to me. James is absolutely breathtakingly, amazing.

He’s started this new thing where he shakes his head and bounces his whole body when you are talking to him. He’s just looking at you and smiling and all of a sudden that head goes from side to side in an immature fashion, so it’s still a little unsteady and doesn’t follow a perfect side to side, there’s some up and down and diagonal. Then his shoulders get involved and got up and down and to and fro, then his whole torso is moving which causes his legs to kind of lift off of the ground on the side…and then he loses balance. It’s adorable.

That smile, that he has? It’s very toothy. He has a few chompers in there, which will come in handy when he learns to chew. I love watching his reaction whenever he eats. He’s not quite sure what’s on the spoon as it makes it’s way towards him. So far he’s not very picky at all but he is displaying a preference when it comes to food. Sometimes he hasn’t even swallowed his last bite before his mouth is open, ready for more.
Untitled design (6)Apple Blueberry is a favorite, from Gerber 3rd Foods® Lil’ Bits® Recipes. He loves the fruity flavors and I am so excited for the day that he’ll be able to bite into a crisp apple right off of the tree when we go apple picking. Apple Carrots & Cinnamon is another Gerber 3rd Foods® Lil’ Bits® Recipes that he just can’t get enough of. The soft Lil’ Bits of fruit or vegetables in the food are the perfect size and texture for James to learn how to mash and chew his food.

James is well on his way to find a cure for cancer or competing in the Olympics, I’m certain. In the meantime, we’re focusing on the simple things like chewing, mashing, crawling and playing.Gerber 3rd Foods® Lil’ Bits® Recipes can help James learn some skills when it comes to eating. It’s always nice to have some help along the way when you are raising such a fabulous child, am I right? You know how it is, your baby is incredible too!
