January 27 – March 3
IRT Upperstage
Young Audience production

Updated costumes, meet Elizabethan language. Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet was amazing at the beautiful Indiana Reparatory Theater and perfect for older kids.  I took my 12-year-old.  The words were the same but the inflection and tone was modern. She was able to follow the story and loved the experience.  Her quote when it was over “I think if they had all chilled out they would have been fine.”  Yeah she got it.  As a grownup Shakespeare lover I was moved to tears at all the right times but still loved the updated simplicity.

This production of Romeo and Juliet was 90 minutes without intermission.  Set on the upper stage for intimate seating.
Tip for parents brining children or on a budget, forgo using the $25 valet service at the theatre and park at nearby Circle Center. Since valet was a popular option for attendees, we waited a long time for our car.

Tickets start at $25 per person. The IRT Education Team has deemed this production appropriate for 7th grade and up.

Tickets and info.
