Marian University Preparatory | A Flexible, Faith-Based Education for Your Child

Are you looking for a school that offers a flexible, faith-based education?

The education system is evolving at a rapid pace. Traditional options are no longer the only choice for students and families. Various options, including online schools, homeschooling, and blended learning, are more readily available. These options allow students to learn at their own pace and in a way that best suits their needs.

Marian University Preparatory (MU Prep) is a great example of a school embracing the latest trends in education. MU Prep offers a hybrid earning model with its virtual learning platform that combines the best of online and in-person learning. Students attend classes on campus for part of the day and complete online assignments the rest of the time. This flexible model allows students to get the individualized attention they need while also allowing them to socialize and participate in extracurricular activities.

In addition to its innovative educational model, MU Prep is committed to providing a strong foundation in academics, faith, and community. The school’s faculty are experienced and dedicated educators passionate about helping students succeed.

MU Prep is a great option if you are looking for an online school to provide your child with a high-quality education in a supportive environment.

About Marian University Preparatory

Marian University Preparatory (MU Prep) opened in 2022 as a private, faith-based virtual/hybrid school for kindergarten through tenth-grade students. It is expected to expand to a K-12 school in the coming years. MU Prep is a vision of Marian University, a transformative Catholic institution based in Indiana, and is operated in partnership with the university. Enrollment is open to residents of over thirty select states.

The Marion University campus is a beautiful, historic, and wooded campus located south of downtown Indianapolis, Indiana.

The Indiana Board of Education accredits Marian University Preparatory. It employs state-licensed teachers and is an Indiana Choice Scholarship voucher school. The school offers a variety of programs and resources to help students reach their full potential, including dual-credit college courses, career prep, and a top-notch curriculum.

MU Prep’s Mission and Values

Marian University Preparatory School (MU Prep) is committed to allowing all students to master their passions and learn as they live. MU Prep believes that education should be tailored to the individual student’s needs and interests and that it should be relevant to the student’s life. MU Prep achieves this through a flexible, relevant, and faith-based approach to education.

Although Marian University is a Catholic institution, it welcomes students of all faiths looking for an education based on Franciscan values: the dignity of the individual, peace and justice, reconciliation, and responsible stewardship.

The MU Prep Indiana-Hybrid option

MU Prep is unique from other online learning platforms with its Indiana-Hybrid option at the Marian University campus in Indianapolis. Hybrid classes are available for grades 6-10 and combine online virtual and in-person courses, and are ideal for parents who want their students to have the best of both worlds. Students can visit campus several times weekly for classes and take advantage of campus opportunities and resources.

This gives families the flexibility to choose the option that best suits their needs, whether a 100% online program or one that includes in-person classes. Students who take all online courses also have opportunities to visit campus throughout the year for social activities, events, and clubs.

In the future, MU Prep plans to expand its hybrid learning options to more locations.

K12 Curriculum and Affordable Tuition Fees

MU Prep uses Stride K12, the leading online learning platform for over 20 years. Stride K12 is superior for its core curriculum and elective courses. Virtual learning combines online and offline lessons with interactive animations, books, music, videos, and materials for hands-on experiments.

Students receive textbooks and other hands-on materials delivered to their homes. These offline materials complement interactive elements of MU Prep’s virtual lessons and vary by grade and course level. A faith-based curriculum reflects the standards and benchmarks of the National Catholic Education Association. Middle school faith curriculum uses “Blest Are We” materials, and high school faith curriculum uses the Ave Maria Press “Encountering Jesus” Series.

MU Prep charges the same tuition for online and hybrid courses, less than $3,800 per semester or $7,500 per year. MU Prep welcomes families to use any tuition assistance programs available in their state or community and has enrollment counselors to help them explore options. MU Prep also accepts vouchers from the Indiana Choice Scholarship Program. Students can also attend part-time, taking up to three courses at a time.

Options for Dual-Credit College Courses and Career Prep

“It’s one thing to be aware of your options and watch them from afar. It’s another thing when you have the space to apply and practice your skills in real-life experiences. That is learning as you live, and that is what we do at Marian University Preparatory School.” –Dr. Elisha Schlabach, Head of School

MU Prep offers career and college prep courses for grades 6 and up students. Students can take career-focused electives and dual-credit courses to get a head start on their future. MU Prep offers career path prep in Business and Arts, AV Tech, and Communications. Middle and high school students can participate in career clubs, gain workplace skills, and prepare for certification exams upon graduation.

Does MU Prep offer an opportunity for students and families to socialize?

MU Prep places a high value on student life as part of the learning experience. The MU PREP K12 Zone is an interactive, supervised campus where classmates can participate in activities, clubs, and social events in a safe environment. Zones are divided by grade level so students can interact with their peers through virtual chats, video conferencing, group activities, games, competitions, school assemblies, and more. Teachers are always present to supervise the K12 Zone.
