A2Z Cafe
A welcoming cafe, located on the north side of Indy. With a menu ranging from breakfast classics to Island favorites to kids’ meals, this cafe prides itself on its warm hospitality. The menu at A2Z Cafe is sure to please the whole family. A2Z Cafe is open for breakfast and lunch hours.
Field Brewing
In Westfield, Field Brewing has a rotating food menu with products from local farmers and artisans. If dining in, you can take advantage of games available for tabletop play, or igloos available for rent. Carryout is also a great option, with easy online ordering. Those with food allergies and preferences will appreciate the menu noting vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and soy-containing items.
Jockamo Upper Crust Pizza
This Irvington favorite also has locations in Greenwood and Lawrence. While pizza is sure to please almost any crowd, Jockamo Upper Crust Pizza takes it to the next level. In addition to their specialty pizzas, Jockamo has starters, salads, sandwiches, and desserts. Online ordering on their website has carryout and delivery options. Jockamo includes vegan and gluten-free listings on their menu.
Just Pop In!
If your crew enjoys popcorn, head to Broad Ripple and visit Indy’s own Just Pop In! What started as a gourmet popcorn shop has expanded to a cafe that features sandwiches, salads, small plates, and popcorn pairings. Just Pop In! partners with local small businesses such as Smoking Goose, The Flying Cupcake Bakery, and Sun King Brewery for some of their menu items. Vegetarian options are noted on the menu.
As a bonus, if you are still in need of a Valentine’s Day gift, Just Pop In! has you covered. The retail counter at the front of the cafe has a variety of gourmet popcorn gift sets ready for purchase or creating a custom tin for that special someone.
Le Croissant French Bakery
Located in Greenwood, this recent addition to the food scene has been getting rave reviews. Treats from Le Croissant French Bakery are the perfect way to start your Valentine’s Day. Make sure to arrive early, as lines have been noted to form at the door for the delicious chocolate croissants and fruit-topped danishes.
Long’s Bakery
Long’s Bakery is an Indianapolis favorite, with a variety of homemade donuts and baked goods. Known for their yeast donuts, they have been named one of the best donut shops in the US by Thrillist and The Indianapolis Star. Surprise your family and pick up a dozen of Indy’s favorite donuts. Long’s Bakery will also have heart-shaped cookies dipped in red royal icing available on Valentine’s Day.
Magoo’s California Pizza
This Valentine’s Day, Magoo’s California Pizza is featuring its signature crust pizza in the shape of a heart. Magoo’s California Pizza is committed to serving the diverse needs of the Indianapolis community through carefully selected recipes, fresh foods, and the use of 100% Zabihah Halal meat. Customers rave about the naan-like crust, white sauce, and the gooey cheese bread. They have locations in Georgetown Plaza and Avon. Carryout is available within an hour of closing and delivery is available at the Avon location.
Mama Bird Bakery
A new addition to Plainfield, this inclusive bakery opened its doors to a warm welcome in January 2023. The Mama Bird Bakery menu reflects its welcoming spirit, with gluten-free and vegan selections in addition to hand pies, cookies, bars, pop-tarts, and more. If you or your loved one enjoys a cup of coffee, you will appreciate Mama Bird Bakery’s partnership with Tinker Coffee and the house-made syrups to pair with your beverage of choice.
Market Wagon
One of my family’s favorite ways to support local shops and farms is Market Wagon. This service features the local offerings of a farmers market with the option to pick up at local spots for free or order home delivery for a fee. Several vendors offer ready-made meal options that arrive ready to heat. Other shops and farms feature sides, fresh produce, and homemade dessert. Options are available for those with allergies.
Oasis Diner
If you are looking for some Hoosier classics to bring home this Valentine’s Day, look no further than the Oasis Diner in Plainfield. This classic 50’s diner features favorites such as breaded tenderloin, biscuits and gravy, and handcrafted soda. Breakfast is served all day. The Oasis Diner also has a variety of pies, cakes, specialty breads, and pastries. Vegetarian and gluten-free options are noted on the Oasis website but are not marked on the menu. Online ordering is available on the Oasis Diner website with pickup or delivery options.
Saraga International Grocery
This international grocery has three locations around Indianapolis with a huge selection of produce, seafood, and frozen items. Saraga International Grocery has a variety of ready-made appetizers, entrees, and desserts. The newest location in Castleton includes five restaurants and a bakery. You are sure to find a unique treat for your sweetheart at this international market.
Uptown Cafe
Start off Valentine’s Day with a freshly baked cinnamon roll or freshly baked bread and jam. Uptown Cafe has a variety of tasty breakfast, brunch, and lunch items available for dine-in, delivery, and carry-out. The Uptown mission focuses on fresh food, made from scratch with high-quality ingredients. Community is also key for Uptown Cafe, highlighted by their development of an Educational Gift Grant (E.G.G.) to support local schools and donate meals to front-line workers. Featuring locations in Indy, Carmel, and Noblesville, Uptown Cafe is open for brunch and lunch hours.
1947
Located in Castleton, 1947 is owned by long-time Indy residents who all have strong roots in different regions of India. The fusion of these regions is reflected in authentic Indian recipes and fusion dishes. 1947 features a full menu of appetizers, Indo-Chinese, chef specialties, tandoori, curries, grains, and desserts. Vegan options are available.
