About the Event
Step into the spirit of Halloween at A Night Out in Sleepy Hollow, a beloved Irvington tradition. Gather under the night sky to hear haunted tales from the annual writing contest winners, sip on spooky-themed beverages provided by Snug, and enjoy a special performance by the Witches of Irvington. The evening concludes with a community reading of Washington Irving’s classic, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.

Why Irvington?
The historic neighborhood of Irvington was named in honor of author Washington Irving (1783–1859), best known for his enduring short stories Rip Van Winkle and The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. This event ties the community’s roots directly to one of the most iconic Halloween tales ever told.
