Walkway of Lights transforms Marion into a sparkling holiday destination each winter, featuring more than 2.5 million lights across 120+ displays stretching over two miles along the Mississinewa Riverwalk in Matter Park. One of the longest-running and largest light displays in the Midwest, it is a favorite tradition for families near and far. Entry is $5 per car per visit, or families can purchase a $25 season pass, available at the toll booth.
The season kicks off with Christmas City USA: Miracle on 3rd and 4th Street on November 22 in downtown Marion, featuring a festive daytime celebration from 12–8 p.m. and a Christmas Parade at 7:00 p.m. The Christmas City Walkway of Lights runs nightly November 22 through December 31, from 6–10 p.m. at Matter Park. Additional family-friendly events include a Walkway of Lights Family Event on December 12 from 7–9 p.m. at the Matter Park Garden House ($5 per child) and a free Breakfast with Santa on December 6 from 9:30–10:30 a.m., also at the Garden House.
