Grillerz is a must-visit restaurant between Trafalgar and Edinburgh, in the quiet town of Nineveh. The American fare is all made fresh-to-order and live music is frequently played. The restaurant has a cozy, rustic log cabin feel inside, creating a lovely atmosphere for any date night.

Big Woods Pizza

11622 NE. Executive Drive, Edinburgh

If you and your date are out shopping at the outlet mall, you can now get a delicious Big Woods pizza and a craft beer or cocktail to wash it down. Refuel here with the pulled pork nachos, forager pizza, and an order of amazing breadsticks. I love that you can support this Indiana business while perusing the stores.

Snappy Tomato Pizza

If you are wanting to try a pizza in Edinburgh, look no further than the Snappy Tomato.  This place is serving up the classics and also has beast style pizzas (rectangular pizzas). There are a few sizes of beast pizzas, but the largest equals the size of 3 large pizzas! You and your date will love the homemade crust and amazing sauce.

Crowbar Restaurant & Lounge

209 S. State Road 135, Trafalgar

If you have driven down 135 to Brown County, you have likely passed by the Crowbar. Next time you are in Trafalgar, take a pit stop here. If you and your date happen to be there on a Thursday, enjoy some karaoke! The Crowbar is 21 and over, offering American fare and a great bar with all the classics. 

El Potro Mexican Restaurant

8002 S. Nineveh Road, Nineveh

A Mexican restaurant is a definite crowd pleaser and great spot for any date night. The atmosphere inside this restaurant will transport you to Mexico. They have amazing street tacos and you can’t go wrong with a margarita. Just try to not fill up on the chips and salsa before your meal comes!

The Apple Works

8157 S. 250 W., Trafalgar

My husband and I love to visit Apple Works any time of the year. This apple orchard offers so much and has the most gorgeous setting.  Stop into the country store when you get there to grab some goodies, then take them out to the shelter or picnic tables to enjoy. You can’t go wrong with an apple dumpling. There is a beautiful pond with a trail around it, a small animal petting zoo, and plenty of grounds to walk around and explore. You can also get ice cream, cider, and other local goodies inside the store. 

Johnson County Park

2949 North Street, Nineveh

Nature lovers rejoice!  Johnson County Park is brimming with great spots to explore. This park has 622-acres of land, including 5 miles of wooded trails and plenty of open fields. There are a few groups that utilize parts of the park, including small-to-scale trains and RC flyers. There is a historic cabin to check out, as well as an amphitheater, and plenty of events are held on the grounds throughout the year.

Coyote Trace Disc Golf Course

S. 325 E., Nineveh

Johnson County Park is the setting for this beautiful disc golf course. If you are looking for something different to do on a date, give disc golf a try. A mix between Frisbee and golf, this sport can be a fun way to do something competitive but stress free during your date. An added bonus is that it is free. This course in particular is very well-maintained. 

Edinburgh Aquatic Center

220 Harrell Drive, Edinburgh

If you are looking to get out of Indy and the crowded pools, head to Edinburgh and enjoy the aquatic center. You and your spouse can enjoy free swimming even from 5:00pm to 6:00pm every evening. If you can’t make it during that time frame, you can get a pass for $5.00 each. Concessions are available, as well.  You will find a large pool with twisty slides and a kids’ area, too. A few times throughout the Summer they offer twilight swim from 9pm to midnight. This is the perfect addition to any summer date night.

Blue’s Canoe Livery

4220 W. 700 N., Edinburgh

If you are looking for an outdoor adventure date, please head over to Blue’s Canoe Livery. This recreation center provides canoe, kayak, and raft trips on the Driftwood River. Your trip will journey through a secluded state wildlife preserve and a portion of the Camp Atterbury wilderness area. Many animals have been spotted on excursions including deer, beaver, blue heron, and wild turkey. There are even some mild rapids to add excitement to the trip.

One of the places Edinburgh is most known for is the outlet mall. You can wander around for hours popping into different stores shopping all of the bargains. With so many options, you and your sweetie are for sure to find some things you will love!

The Edinburgh Pixy Theatre

111 S. Walnut Street, Edinburgh

The Pixy Theatre is a small theatre that holds a variety of performances throughout the year. If you are interested in hearing live music, seeing a comedy show, or even a magician check out their lineup for the 2021 season. You can pair this with dinner at a local Edinburgh restaurant for a full night of entertainment. 

Exit 76 Antique Mall

12595 N. Executive Drive, Edinburgh

If you and your boo want to go on a treasure hunt head over to the Exit 76 Antique Mall to search through the 72,00 square foot store. There are over 600 venders represented here and has been deemed an official State of Indiana Attraction. This place is so large that you could easily spend hours browsing the stalls. 

The Nook Gallery

102 W. Pearl Street, Trafalgar

Not only can you purchase beautiful pottery from The Nook Gallery but you can take pottery lessons as well through their Waddleworks Studio. Contact them directly to set up an appointment to learn the ins and outs of pottery. If you live in the area, this would be an excellent choice for an ongoing activity you and your loved one could learn.

Sweet Treats

Wildflour Bakehouse & Catering Company 

1012 County Road 775 S., Nineveh

If you are looking to grab some food before heading out for a day date, stop by Wildflour. You may previously know them as the Sugar Shack from Franklin but they have moved to Nineveh under a new name. Get there early to grab some amazing donuts or some sandwiches to enjoy at a local park.

Not Just Popcorn

101 E. Main Cross Street, Edinburgh

Not Just Popcorn is a mu  st visit if you are in Edinburgh. You and your date will love browsing all of the flavors of popcorn and picking out favorites and new flavors. This shop has made over 400 different flavors of popcorn since 1989. To add a little extra to your date, try out the tour of the facilities to see what all is entailed to make this much popcorn.
