Danville has amazing date night options; especially if you are looking for an evening in a quaint downtown. The downtown square is filled with many historic buildings and many of the businesses are within walking distance of one another. In addition to this, you can find some wonderful outdoor locations to explore, hike, or picnic in if you are in need of some fresh air.

Frank’s Place

Frank’s Place has so much to offer its customers. In business since 1999, Frank’s knows its way around Italian food. You will love the new take on the traditional pizza and pasta dishes. The prices are amazing and you will find so many delicious choices on the menu. There are appetizers such as sautéed shrimp or mussels, caprese, and bruschetta. There are at least 15 different pastas dishes plus the specials available not to mention tiramisu and cannoli for dessert. While you wait to be seated or for an after dinner drink, visit the hidden gem inside the restaurant, Ciccio’s Bar. You will enjoy beautifully handcrafted drinks.
Mayberry Café
78 W. Main Street, Danville
For many people, the Mayberry Café is a must visit when in Danville. This restaurant has been serving up classic comfort food since 1989. If you and your date want to take a step back in time, you must check this out. You will know you have found the restaurant once you spot the retro sheriff’s car parked out front. You will find all of the traditional American classics here and the fried chicken cannot be skipped. Fried biscuits and apple butter is another staple that will leave you feeling satisfied.
Two Guys Pies
55 E. Main Street, Danville
The enticing aromas from Two Guys Pizza will make you want to plan a pizza date night for sure. The margarita pizza is incredible and they have a salad bar that is always fresh and full of amazing choices. The atmosphere is bright and open with plenty of seating. Grab a beer or wine to go with your pizza to round out the meal!
The Bee Hive
55 E. Main Street, Danville
This café is so bright and airy. Stop by here for a delicious lunch date and grab some coffees and pastries to enjoy later on. Fresh ingredients are put together and the results is high quality clean food. They even have frozen meals that you can take home if you were rather have a date night in. As you may have guess from the name, you can buy local honey here year round. Fresh honey is used in many of the baked goods as well.
La Ranchera Mexican Food
1299 W. Main Street, Danville
La Ranchera is the perfect place to go if you are looking for delicious Mexican food. The atmosphere here is really cool too; there is a large patio out front that is completely covered offering protection from the weather. Inside you will find traditional Mexican décor and a menu chock full of all the favorites you know and crave. The street tacos are very authentic and the guacamole is fresh.
Outdoor Activities
Beasley Orchard
2304 E. Main Street, Danville
For those living west of Indianapolis, Beasley’s Orchard has likely been a family tradition for years and years. If you are new to the area or want to check out what Danville has to offer, please add Beasley’s to your list. Open since 1946, they specialize in apple picking but have expanded to be so much more. The farm market is open year round for all of your farm cravings or plan a trip to a festival such as the Sunflower Festival or Fall Festival. In addition to this, bring your sweetie out to enjoy the picturesque landscape and pick strawberries and apples.
Twin Bridges Loop Trail
E. County Road 200 S., Danville
If you are looking for a relatively easy trail to hike while out and about in Danville, the 1.4 mile Twin Bridges loop is good for all skill levels. The wooded trail winds in a loop past as small creek and features plenty of beautiful wild flowers. You will also cross a bridge and stepping stone crossing over the creek. It is recommended that you take a picture of the map before heading out as it can be easy to get off the path. Because it is typically not busy, you can often see a lot of wildlife.
Ellis Park
600 E. Main Street, Danville
Ellis Park is a great park to visit while in Danville. This park is very large with lots of activities to keep everyone busy. If you want to go hiking there are trails throughout the woods. There is a creek with a large suspension bridge crossing it that is wobbly and fun. You can also find a gazebo and plenty of great picnic spots. Grab your date and some food from a local business and explore this great park.
Twin Bridges Golf Club
1001 Cartersburg Road, Danville
Play a round of golf with your spouse or just hit a bucket of balls out on the range. The prices are very affordable and the scenery is absolutely gorgeous. A large bucket of balls is only $8. The golf club is open year round so you can even head over their on the nicer days of winter if you need a breath of fresh air.
Gill Family Aquatic Center
450 Leedy Street, Danville
Spending the afternoon at the pool is great way to connection with your significant other. The Gill Family Aquatic Center is perfect for relaxing and taking a dip in the pool. The aquatic center offers a zero depth entry, 2 waterslides, a diving board, and my personal favorite, a lazy river. The location is very beautiful as well because it is surrounded by Ellis Park.
Indoor Activities
Hendricks County Museum
170 S. Washington Street, Danville
If you are looking for something unique to do indoors, the Hendricks County Museum is a fascinating building with artifacts dating back to 1866 when it served as the Sheriff’s residence and jail. You will find many rooms throughout the home decorated in the 1900s style. The tour guides are very knowledgeable and share lots of interesting facts.
Gallery on the Square/Paint and Sip
51 S. Washington Street, Danville
Gallery on the Square is an art gallery that has also opened their space up for events and classes. There are a few that are offered by Gallery on the Square such as oil painting, still life drawing, and found art where you turn junk into treasure. Alongside this, you can register for classes through Paint and Sip which has instructor led step by step painting classes where you will bring a finished painting home at the end of the night. These are always wonderful choices for date night because you do not have to be an artist to enjoy the time and you might just learn something new about art and painting.
Smokey Fireside Creations

This spot is part gift shop part art studio and it is adorable. You can definitely spend time here shopping, but take advantage of the classes offered as well. For a low stress date night consider booking time to enjoy a coffee and work on any art that your heart desires. You can stop in for a low key coloring night or schedule a time to learn about art journaling.
Royal Theater
59 S. Washington Street, Danville
Going to the Royal Theater is the perfect way to jazz up your typical movie date. This theater is in a gorgeous historic building and has amazing acoustics so your movie will sound top-notch. The pricing for tickets and concessions are very reasonable with evening ticket prices at only $6. There is only one screen so arrive early to grab your tickets.
Marmalade Sky Bed and Breakfast

If you and your swee tie need a night away, book a room at the Marmalade Sky Bed and Breakfast. Here you will be within walking distance to many of Danville’s best boutiques, cafés, parks, and restaurants. Once you book your room, make sure to request breakfast the following morning so you can take it nice and easy before you get out to explore. The rooms are tastefully decorated not gaudy like you often find at B&Bs. The pricing is very reasonable as well.

I love visiting Court House Grounds for an afternoon pick-me-up. I am always so comfortable here and the staff is excellent at making sure you are taken care of. Check out the afternoon tea complete with local tea and delicious pastries and savory items. You can also grab any coffee beverage your heart desires. You’ll want to come back of course, so check out Sunday Brunch or CHG After Hours for a special dinner menu.
Danville Dips

Located in the heart of Danville, is a delightful ice cream shop that you must include on your next date night. Expect a long line because this ice cream is delicious. Choose from a long list of hand dipped ice creams or from the surprisingly long list of soft serve ice creams as well. Lots of other ice cream favorites are available here as well. The exposed brick walls and long wooden bench seating give a clean and fresh look to the shop.
Reds Donuts

Get here early and you will be greeted with long cases filled with all of the donuts you could imagine. If you and your loved one are headed out early in the day to enjoy a day date, stop by Reds. You will not be disappointed! They often experiment with fun flavors but the classics cannot be missed. Pick a variety of donuts to share and rate your favorites!
Arcane Coffee Company

This is not the traditional coffee shop you may be typically used to but it features some amazing products. If you and your spouse love coffee and want to learn more about it, you need to stop in to Arcane. Coffee is sold in whole bean form for you to take home and grind as necessary. The cold brew coffee is out of this world delicious. The owner is passionate about good coffee and is so knowledgeable about how to roast and brew it.
