Community Sensory Day

The City of Carmel is observing National Disability Awareness Month in March and will be part of several special events.

When: Saturday, March 8, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Where: Midtown Plaza

Join us in Midtown Plaza for snacks courtesy of our city partners at BraunAbility, free giveaways and sensory activities, videos hosted by the Carmel Advisory Committee on Disability (CACD), and a family-friendly movie with closed captioning.

Also notable;

  • Adaptive Virtual Art Exhibit 
    This annual virtual exhibit in partnership with the Carmel Arts Council, will be featured on the Midtown screen throughout March with artists’ works also featured in the City of Carmel weekly e-newsletter.

  • Carmel Clay Public Library
    March Disability Awareness Book List
    The library will share a list of recommended books to highlight authors with a disability or books with characters with a disability.

  • Hamilton County Disability Resource Fair
    Wednesday, March 26, 6 – 7:30 p.m.
    Carmel High School

This event is featured on Indy with Kids in partnership with Tendercare Home Health. For over 30 years, Tendercare has been helping medically complex children and their families thrive at home. Whether through paying family members to deliver care or connecting children with experienced pediatric nurses, Tendercare strives to enrich children’s lives at home in every way.
