Be among the first families to explore the brand-new Kid Central and Teen Central spaces at Central Library during this day-long grand opening celebration and Summer Reading Kickoff.
The festivities begin with ribbon-cutting ceremonies for both new spaces, followed by a full day of family activities, crafts, entertainment, and community resources. Families can enjoy balloon twisting, face painting, canvas painting, free swag and cookies (while supplies last), and opportunities to sign up for the Summer Reading Program.
Special highlights include a Teddy Bear Concert from 2–3 PM and Paws to Read from 1–3 PM, where kids can practice reading with therapy dogs.
Schedule Highlights:
10:10 AM: Kid Central Ribbon Cutting (3rd Floor East)
10:30 AM: Teen Central Ribbon Cutting (2nd Floor West)
11:00 AM – 4:00 PM: Balloon Twisting, Face Painting, Canvas Painting, and activities
1:00 PM – 3:00 PM: Paws to Read
2:00 PM – 3:00 PM: Teddy Bear Concert
Community partners will be on-site throughout the day, making this a fun way to celebrate summer reading while checking out two exciting new spaces designed just for kids and teens.
