May 25th and 26th come Race Around Farm in celebration of the Indy 500. The sanctuary will be open for visitors for self guided tours (The self-guided tour is best for children over the age of 6.). Please note we take our last visitor 30 minutes before we close. Visitors are welcome to bring these approved snacks to feed the animals: apples, carrots, cucumbers, grapes, watermelon, and cheerios.
Oinking Acres is a rescue and sanctuary, and while calm, gentle petting of the animals is welcomed, we are not a ‘petting zoo.’ Our residents call the farm home, and our top priority is that they all feel safe and comfortable in their own home. Parents, we ask that you help your children to understand and respect the animals and their space. Running and screaming through the barn is prohibited, so as not to frighten the animals. Our number one rule is: Respect the animals.
We do ask that if younger children accompany your group, that they be carried throughout the barn to eliminate the possibility of being stepped on. We are unable to permit strollers or wagons as they are a safety hazard to the animals.
