Details:
See birds of prey up close during Raptor Feeding Time at Eagle Creek Park’s Ornithology Center. Each Saturday afternoon, a park naturalist feeds one or more of the center’s Raptor Ambassadors, giving visitors a rare opportunity to observe these fascinating birds during a live feeding.

These short programs often feature Matilda the Turkey Vulture, along with other raptors that call the Ornithology Center home. Naturalists will share interesting facts about the birds’ diets, behaviors, and natural habitats while demonstrating how they care for these incredible animals.

Because the feeding only lasts a few minutes, guests are encouraged to arrive on time so they don’t miss the action. Programs take place outdoors rain or shine, making it easy to add to a day exploring Eagle Creek Park’s trails and nature areas.

For the safety of the birds, touching or handling is not permitted. Large groups are encouraged to call ahead at 317-327-BIRD. Programs are not held on city holidays.

We do our best to provide the most relevant and timely information to our readers, but please confirm dates, times, and availability before attending an event. Events are posted on IWK from information found on, but not limited to, attraction sites, government city sites; as well as submissions from individual attractions, press releases and PR firms. All events are subject to change without notice and Indy with Kids cannot be held responsible.
