Celebrate the first day of summer by joining members of the Miami Nation of Indiana as they drum the sun down. Arrive early for all day fun!
10 a.m.: Solstice Suncatchers! Celebrate the coming of longer days and brighter sunshine by creating a beautiful beaded suncatcher! Stop by the Nature Center Classroom anytime until 11:30 a.m. to participate. Supply cost of $4.00 for each suncatcher.
4 p.m.: Mystery of the Mounds Talk. Join a park naturalist for this 45-minute discussion of the earthworks that give Mounds State Park its name. Learn how the mounds were made, more about the people that made them, and how we think they were used. Meets at Circle Mound, by the Woodland Shelter.
7 p.m. to 10 p.m.: Solstice Sunset at Circle Mound. Celebrate the first day of summer by joining members of the Miami Nation of Indiana as they drum the sundown.
