Theater classes will be presented by local Haughville Neighborhood theater company Fonseca Theater.
Workshop 1 (July 12): Writing and Storytelling
Participants will work on writing and storytelling. Participants will discuss the elements of a story, what makes playwriting unique from other types of writing, and brainstorm of their own ideas!
Workshop 2 (July 19): Costume Design
We will focus on different elements of production design including costumes, props, and set. Participants who participated in the writing workshop are encouraged to use those ideas for their designs. Everyone will each make a prop or mask that fits a character they create during the workshop.
Workshop 3 (July 26): Acting
We will focus on performance. Participants will be led through a series of exercises aimed at improving public speaking and ensemble coordination. Students will develop a short scene or monologue for an original character.
