There is just something about a small-town restaurant that evokes memories of childhood. The smells of home-cooked meals, the laughter of families enjoying each other’s company, or maybe it’s the warm fuzzy feeling and excitement of creating these memories with your own family.
Just east of Indianapolis is a family-owned pizza chain that encompasses all of these feelings. Mozzi’s Pizza has five locations with establishments in Fortville, New Palestine, Mt. Comfort, and two in the city of Greenfield. Our favorite, and by far the most kid-friendly of all is the one about thirty minutes straight east of Indianapolis on US 40 at 2221 West Main Street, Greenfield.

Pizza and Basketball Paradise
This mom-and-pop run pizza shop will stop you in your tracks before you even get through the front door. Everyone, and yes even your too-cool-for-family-dinners-teenager, will want to see how they measure up to Shaquille O’Neal’s size 22 shoe prints. On the other side of the doorway is the famous restaurant mascot, Mozzi Mouse, who left his own imprints for you to step into. How do you measure up?
As you walk in the front door you are greeted with open arms, more specifically, Michael Jordan’s wide open arms spanning the entire front counter. The floors are painted to look like a hardwood basketball court and as you begin to look around you find yourself immersed in all things basketball.
The main dining room is home to rows upon rows of posters, hats, autographs, trophies, bobbleheads, jerseys, and shoes. Oh, the glorious, HUGE shoes! What the poor mothers of these athletes must have gone through to feed and clothe their growing giants, one can only imagine. Shaq’s shoe is the size of a grown adult’s entire arm! See for yourself.
The main dining room is also home to the pizza and salad buffet. The buffets offer a well-stocked variety of pizza options, pasta selections, breadsticks, garlic knots, soups, salads, and desserts. Even during the busy dinner hour, the kitchen staff was able to keep up and keep a continuous supply of pizza stocked for the all-you-can-eat patrons. Sold on the pizza buffet but want to make a date night of it? Check out these great date night ideas in Greenfield.

Big Parties at Mozzi’s Pizza
You’ll often find local fundraisers, school teams, and celebrations happening within the restaurant. In addition to the main room, Mozzi’s Pizza has two other dining areas; the Banquet Room seats 60-70 people and the Fieldhouse can seat up to 40. Both rooms have plenty of incredible basketball décor, autographs, and various memorabilia aligning the walls. There are also plenty of televisions to catch the game on. If you have a large crowd or you’re looking for a birthday party idea, just call ahead and they will do their best to section off enough space for you.

Mozzi’s Pizza owners have made pizza their passion and it shows. You really feel a sense of pride in such a small-town establishment. The kids eat free buffet is icing on the cake; you never really know how much a kid is going to eat so it’s nice not having to pay full price when you think they’ll eat an actual dinner’s worth of food and all they really eat is a bowl of pudding off the salad bar.
