If you’ve traveled at all in the past few years, you may have seen selfie museums and selfie pop-up studios in other cities. Indianapolis now has a selfie experience which has been called the Most Instagrammable Place in the Midwest! Selfie Wrld Indy is a studio space with over 35 separate and unique interactive exhibits built into boxed areas, perfectly framed for your favorite social media platforms.
Selfie Wrld Indy is a ton of fun for a date night, with kids, or you can host a birthday party in the studio! We went with another couple recently and had a blast moving from space to space, each one perfectly designed to optimize the best shot. Kids will also have a blast while truly expressing themselves. There was even a ball pit and several swings when I went.
Selfie Wrld Indy
Selfie Wrld Indy is Indiana’s first selfie museum where you can immerse yourself in fun, eye-catching, interactive art installations. Dress up with your special someone and have the most unique date night, taking photos with each other as you move through the many different sets. Host a kids’ or adult birthday party in the private space with a party room for cake. Kids will also love all of the different sets where they can be as wild as they want to be, posing for the camera in fun ways they don’t usually get to.
My husband and I joined another couple for a date night/birthday party and we had the best time! The themes and exhibits change often, but a few of the exhibits they offered while we were there were: an Indy 500/milk-themed set with a black and white checkered flag and milk jug, a heart-shaped swing in front to of red and pink hearts, a set with a trampoline, a First Class airplane set with little airplane windows looking out, a pink marbled background, a washing and drying machine under the word “dirty” lit up, angel wings, a pair of swings in front of a purple glittered backdrop, a set with the words “Good Times Are Calling” with four phones on the wall, a Pacers basketball hoop to dunk on, a popcorn exhibit with a ball pit of white balls you can throw up in the air, and many more.
An Hour at Selfie Wrld Indy
Guests pay a ticket fee for a timed entry that allows them to have one or two hours in the selfie museum. You will not encounter crowds at Selfie Wrld Indy and you can take your time at each stop without feeling rushed. Bring your own phone or camera and snap as many photos as your heart desires in the more than 35 hands-on art installations. The installations are ever-changing during different seasons and as new trends arise. We did two hours and I thought that was the perfect amount of time to see all of the sets and do a couple of changes of clothes.
An unexpected bonus of our visit was that they offered hands-free photo-taking! A tall stand with a circular light held a phone or camera to take hands-free photos with a timer. The soft background lighting made everybody look amazing too, so that was a plus!
What to Bring to Selfie Wrld Indy
Bring along an outfit change or two so you aren’t wearing the same thing in every photo. Remember, you will be photographed in over 35 sets! Changing rooms are available and easy to access. We were celebrating a milestone birthday, so we brought in 40th birthday props and favors which were perfect for the glam exhibits.
Unfortunately, you cannot bring your pets or any food or drink into the studio. There is a party room on-site that’s available to rent for birthdays, bachelorette parties, bridal showers, and any other event you can dream up and you can have cake in there.
Selfie Wrld Indy Tickets
Purchase your ticket online before heading to Selfie Wrld Indy. While they do accept walk-ins, entry is not guaranteed. When you arrive, you’ll be issued a large selfie ring with a phone holder on a tall stand. You can set your phone timer and pose away alone or with your favorite people. Shoot your photos straight on or try different angles for even more variety and choices.

Host a Birthday Party or Private Event
Host a birthday party, bridal shower, bachelorette party, or team-building event at Selfie Wrld Indy. Parties of up to 40 people have use of the party room and can bring in food, alcohol, and decorations. Food must only be eaten in the party room and alcohol is only permitted at parties outside of business hours.
