7 Things to Do This Weekend Near Indianapolis

7 Things to do this weekend

Fall break is wrapping up for us, and we are in full-fledged Fall mode around here. Pumpkins, leaves, cooler weather; I am here for it.

If you have another week of Fall break, or just looking for something to do this Fall, check out our mega list of fantastic Fall Activities or Fall Break trips worth the drive. There’s sure to be something for everyone.

The kids have been begging me for a trip to the pumpkin patch, and frankly, the hardest part is choosing which one to visit first. Lark Ranch has always been one of our favorites, as much for the activities as the pumpkins, and like last year, they have that amazing third location for our readers in Southern Indiana. Regardless of the patch you visit, make a day of it and take advantage of any beautiful Fall days we have left. What is your favorite fall activity?

Let’s #PlayIndy! 🎃

7 Things to Do This Weekend

Jimmy Nash Pumpkin Patch

This free event on Friday, October 11, is for the whole family. The first 200 children, up to age 16, can pick a pumpkin from the patch to take home and carve with the family. Take a chance at the candy corn guessing game. All ages are welcome to guess. Five winners will receive a jar of candy corn. Guests can also enjoy pumpkin face painting and win candy by playing a round of Halloween Bingo.

Touch a Truck

The Cicero Touch-A-Truck event this weekend provides a FREE opportunity to climb into the driver’s seat, honk the horn, and experience all the exciting things transportation vehicles and operating equipment can do! Meet K-9 officer, Simon and check out the police cruisers too! Head out to Red Bridge Park for this fun, family event on Saturday, October 12.

Morgan County Fall Foliage Festival

This annual event is a Martinsville tradition – join the fun at this festival, featuring fun events, including carnival rides, vendor booths, a 5K run/walk, a car show, and so much more! The Fall Foliage Festival takes place in downtown Martinsville all weekend. Don’t miss the parade on Sunday, October 13.

No Ruff “Dog” Days | Daniel’s Vineyard

Come out for a “spooktacular”  good time! Join our friends at Daniel’s Vineyard on Sunday, October 13. Live music and local pet vendors will be on-site at the cutest Halloween party ever. Each ticket holder will receive a raffle ticket to be entered into a drawing for a hauntingly good prize. The drawing will take place at 3pm, and the winner must be present to win! Bring your four-legged family members in their Halloween best for this annual event.

Astronomy Program

Take stargazing to new heights by escaping the light pollution of the city and heading to McCloud Nature Park, where thousands of stars twinkle in the night sky! This program is led by an expert sky watcher and is geared toward the novice astronomer. Telescopes will be set up for your use. The evening will begin with a brief informational session in the Nature Center where you will learn which planets and constellations will be visible that night. These seminars last about 30 minutes and are best suited for ages 8 and older. Outdoor sky-viewing will follow.

The Arts in Autumn

The whole family is invited to enjoy this free fall festival in Midtown Carmel. Trick-or-treating stations around the plaza and inside the nearby Indiana Design Center are just the beginning. This event also includes live music, arts and crafts vendors, giveaways, a screening of the movie Coco, free balloon art and glitter tattoos, a touch-a-truck event, and more. For even more treats, saunter down to Main Street for Meet Me on Main, where participating local businesses will be handing out candy.
