One of the best entertainment deals of the summer is back. The 2026 Indiana State Fair concerts bring country, rock, hip-hop, gospel, tribute acts, and longtime favorites to the Hoosier Lottery Free Stage throughout the Fair.
Best of all, the concerts on the Hoosier Lottery Free Stage are included with paid Indiana State Fair admission. General seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis, so you don’t need to purchase a separate concert ticket to see the show.
The 2026 Indiana State Fair runs August 7-23 and is closed Mondays. Most headline concerts begin at 7:30 pm, although a few evenings include earlier performances or special programming.
If music is one of the main reasons you’re heading to the Fair, here’s the complete 2026 Indiana State Fair concert lineup and what you need to know before you go.
2026 Indiana State Fair Concert Schedule
The Spinners and The Four Tops
Friday, August 7
The Spinners: 6 pm
The Four Tops: 7:30 pm
Opening night originally featured The Beach Boys, but that performance was canceled. The updated opening-night lineup featured two legendary Motown groups, The Spinners and The Four Tops.
TUSK: The Classic Fleetwood Mac Tribute
Saturday, August 8 at 7:30 pm
Fleetwood Mac fans can sing along to familiar favorites when TUSK takes over the Free Stage. The tribute band focuses on recreating the music of Fleetwood Mac for a night of classic-rock nostalgia.
Josiah Queen
Sunday, August 9 at 7:30 pm
Christian singer-songwriter Josiah Queen performs Sunday evening on the Hoosier Lottery Free Stage.
This could be a good show for families with older kids and teens who already know his music.
Clayton Anderson
Tuesday, August 11 at 7:30 pm
Indiana’s own Clayton Anderson brings country music to the Fair on the first $2 Tuesday.
If you’re looking for one of the most affordable concert nights at the State Fair, this is a great one to consider because Fair admission is only $2 on August 11. The concert itself is included with admission.
Vixen and Warrant
Wednesday, August 12
Vixen: 6:30 pm
Warrant: 7:30 pm
Bret Michaels was originally scheduled to perform on August 12, but his appearance has been canceled. Vixen and Warrant are now performing instead, turning the evening into a double dose of classic glam and hard rock.
Busta Rhymes
Thursday, August 13 at 7:30 pm**
One of the biggest names on the 2026 lineup is hip-hop artist Busta Rhymes. Expect this to be one of the Fair’s higher-demand concert nights, so if you’re planning to rely on free general admission seating, I’d arrive early.
Parents should also keep in mind that this is an all-ages State Fair environment, but individual performers’ music and live shows may contain material they don’t consider appropriate for younger children.
Grand Funk Railroad
Friday, August 14 at 7:30 pm
Classic rock fans can catch Grand Funk Railroad on Friday night.
DJ Golden Hour: A Tribute to Demon Hunters
Saturday, August 15 at 7:30 pm
K-pop Demon Hunters fans, this one’s for you. DJ Golden Hour: A Tribute to Demon Hunters comes to the Free Stage Saturday night for a high-energy tribute show. For families with kids and teens who have been swept up in Demon Hunters mania, this may be one of the most family-appealing concerts on this year’s schedule.
Trace Adkins
Sunday, August 16 at 7:30 pm
Country star Trace Adkins celebrates three decades in country music with a stop at the Indiana State Fair. His Fair performance is free with paid admission.
Latino Day featuring Los Sementales de Nuevo León
Tuesday, August 18
Entertainment begins at 6 pm
Los Sementales de Nuevo León performs at 7:30 pm
Latino Day brings an evening of music and entertainment presented by 107.1 Radio Latina, with Los Sementales de Nuevo Leon taking the stage at 7:30 pm. August 18 is also the second $2 Tuesday, making this another especially affordable night to pair a Fair visit with a concert.
Happy Together Tour
Wednesday, August 19 at 7:30 pm
The Happy Together Tour packs several familiar acts into one show. The 2026 tour features The Association, The Troggs, Jason Scheff, Gary Puckett, The Fortunes, Ron Dante, The Vogues, and The Cowsills. If your ideal playlist leans heavily toward music from the ’60s, ’70s, and ’80s, circle this date.
Gene Simmons
Thursday, August 20 at 7:30 pm
KISS fans have a major reason to head to the Fair this year. Gene Simmons performs on the Hoosier Lottery Free Stage Thursday night. This is another show I would expect to draw a particularly large crowd.
Sammy Kershaw and Craig Morgan
Friday, August 21
Sammy Kershaw: 6 pm
Craig Morgan: 7:30 pm
Country fans get two performances in one evening. Sammy Kershaw kicks things off at 6 pm, followed by Craig Morgan at 7:30 pm. This could be one of the best nights to plan a full adults-only State Fair outing or date night at the Indiana State Fair.
Don McLean
Saturday, August 22 at 7:30 pm
Singer-songwriter Don McLean performs on the final Saturday of the Fair. Yes, that means there’s a pretty good chance you’ll hear “American Pie” surrounded by corn dogs, Midway lights, and thousands of fellow Fairgoers. That feels appropriately State Fair to us.
Tasha Cobbs Leonard
Sunday, August 23 at 7:30 pm
The Fair closes with its Gospel Music Festival, headlined by Grammy-winning gospel artist Tasha Cobbs Leonard. Gospel Music Festival entertainment begins at 3 pm, with Cobbs Leonard scheduled to perform at 7:30 pm. This performance closes out the 2026 Indiana State Fair concert schedule.
Are Indiana State Fair Concerts Really Free?
Yes, with one important distinction.
Hoosier Lottery Free Stage concerts are free with paid Indiana State Fair admission. You don’t need an additional concert ticket to use the general admission viewing area. Seating is first come, first served.
So if you’ve already paid to enter the Fair, you can head over to the Free Stage and see that evening’s concert without purchasing another ticket.
Children age 5 and younger receive free Fair admission. Current online admission is $19, including the $1 online processing fee.
Check out our Indiana State Fair discounts and deals guide before choosing your concert date because certain Fair days can dramatically reduce your admission cost.
Can You Buy Reserved Seats for Indiana State Fair Concerts?
Yes.
This is one of the biggest differences between simply attending the free show and upgrading your experience.
The Fair offers a limited number of reserved and premium reserved viewing options for Free Stage concerts. These upgraded tickets include Indiana State Fair admission along with the reserved concert experience.
Depending on the concert and package, upgrades may include:
* Access to a reserved viewing area
* Assigned seating in premium rows
* Private restrooms
* A private bar
* A collectible concert laminate
Premium reserved options are divided into Gold and Silver seating areas for participating shows.
Upgrade prices vary significantly by performer and availability. For example, some 2026 shows currently have $25 reserved-access options, while higher-demand performances have packages ranging from $60-$120.
If you don’t want to worry about arriving early enough to grab a good general-admission spot, the upgrade may be worth considering.
Can You Bring a Chair to the Free Stage?
Yes. The Fair encourages general-admission concertgoers to bring lawn chairs for the Hoosier Lottery Free Stage. General seating is first come, first served.
If there’s a show you really want to see, I wouldn’t wait until 7:25 pm to wander over and hope for the perfect spot.
Arrive early, claim your place, grab some Fair food, and settle in.
Are Indiana State Fair Concerts Kid-Friendly?
The venue itself is part of the Indiana State Fair and is open to Fairgoers of all ages, which makes these concerts much more accessible for families than many traditional concert venues.
Whether a particular show is right for your kids is a different question. Some artists are an obvious fit for families, while others may perform songs with mature lyrics or stage content. Check out the artist before deciding whether to bring younger children.

Make a Full Indiana State Fair Day Out of It
The concert doesn’t have to be the entire outing.
Come early and visit the animals, work your way through the Taste of the Fair foods, ride the Midway, explore the 2026 Always a Hit! baseball attractions, and then head to the Hoosier Lottery Free Stage for the evening show.
For an adults-only night, pair the concert with our Indiana State Fair date-night ideas or Indiana State Fair girls’ night out guide.
