Theatre Camp at Butler University
Join Butler Theatre faculty, staff, alumni, and students for an immersive camp experience, perfect for both beginners and those with performing or technical theatre experience. Participants can sharpen their acting skills while also exploring theatre design and technical production. Hands-on sessions in both performing and technology offer campers a comprehensive look at both onstage and behind-the-scenes creativity.
Creative Writing Camp at Butler University
Creative Writing Camp combines learning, laughter, and compassion to inspire young writers and readers. The program connects bright, young people with talented mentors and like-minded peers to nurture intellectual and artistic discovery. This learning-rich community rejects a narrow version of education in which, too often, assessment structures learning. We reach for a goal that is harder to define: enhancing creativity, developing the imagination, and finding our voices. We help our students and campers be so engaged with the joys of literary arts that they don’t even notice how much they are learning.
Guitar Camp at Butler University
Guitar Camp is designed to expose students with little or no prior study to the guitar and its music. Instruction will focus on basic technique with a concentration on a short melody or tune daily. Students will be introduced to a variety of guitar styles and music. Activities will include group ensemble, games, and more! The week will conclude with a short group performance. Tuition includes a T-shirt and all materials. Students must supply their own instrument. Acoustic guitars are preferred, but electric guitars are welcome (student must provide own amp).
Arts Adventure Camp at Butler University
Arts Adventure Camp offers students an opportunity to explore music, visual art, theatre, and dance through engaging, hands-on activities led by experienced Teaching Artists. Designed for students of all skill levels, the camp encourages creativity, fosters problem-solving skills, and introduces participants to new art forms in a supportive environment. No prior experience is necessary—only a willingness to participate and explore.
Dance Adventure Camp at Butler University
Discover the joy of movement at Dance Adventure Camp! Open to all experience levels, this program explores a variety of classical dance styles, including ballet, jazz, and modern.
Ballet: Develop technique with barre work and foundational terminology.
Jazz: Learn to groove with body isolations, rhythm, and across-the-floor combinations.
Modern: Explore movement through improvisation and dynamic spatial rhythms.
Stretch and Strengthen: Enhance flexibility and alignment with yoga and breathwork.
Hip Hop Camp at Butler University
Hip Hop Camp will offer an interactive and immersive learning experience into Hip Hop history, music, and culture. Delve into hands-on sessions where you’ll refine your skills, explore new styles, and unlock your creative potential. Collaborate with fellow campers, exchanging ideas and collectively creating memorable pieces that echo the spirit of Hip Hop.
Tuition Assistance
Campers who meet one of the following items are eligible for full, need-based tuition assistance. Apply when you register. A $25 non-refundable deposit is due at the time of registration to hold your spot in camp. However, if you are denied tuition assistance, you can have the $25 refunded.
Need-based tuition assistance qualifications (must meet one of the following):
- Camper is a 21st Century Scholar
- Camper qualifies financially for free/reduced lunch at school
- Camper would be a first-generation college student

Step into the exciting world of competitive gaming at Butler Esports Camp! Held at Butler’s state-of-the-art Esports Park, campers ages 12-18 will join teams, participate in tournaments, and sharpen their skills in a fun, supportive environment. Each week is focused on either Fortnite or Valorant.
Butler Discovery Camps
Butler University is excited to launch Butler Discovery Camps – a suite of themed camp weeks that will excite and engage your curiosity. Campers between rising grades 1-7 can pick between five camp themes: Art in Nature, Creative Construction, Farm to Table, Game Makers, and Our Universe. Perfect for budding chefs, astronauts, architects, farmers, and more! Mix and match depending on the weeks that fit your schedule
