Christmas at the Zoo
If you’re looking for a unique spin on Christmas lights and holiday fun in Indy, check out Christmas at the Zoo, an annual event and family favorite at the Indianapolis Zoo. Every December, we put on our winter coats and step out into the wild during the holiday season! The Indianapolis Zoo is full of sparkling, twinkling lights. It’s beautiful and magical and the kids always have a great time!
It’s not every night that you get to race around the zoo, checking out the animals, seeing reindeer, visiting with Santa and taking in the beautiful lights! Party with the seals and sea lions, polar bear, walrus, tigers, orangutans, brown bears and more! Check out the dolphin show and visit Oceans, warm up with some cocoa at the giant fireplace.
How Much is Admission to Christmas at the Zoo?
Christmas at the Zoo is free for Zoo members and included with regular Zoo admission. Find discount tickets at participating Donatos Pizza restaurants and Teachers Credit Union locations. Take $1 off admission at the gate with the donation of a new hat, scarf or gloves to benefit St. Mary’s Child Center. See more info and purchase tickets on the Indianapolis Zoo website.
2018 Christmas at the Indianapolis Zoo
Santa’s Village is a beautiful part of Christmas at the Zoo. Families can visit with Santa (free, but photo packages are available for sale), decorate cookies in Mrs. Claus’ Kitchen (purchase required), see Santa’s reindeer in the barn, purchase treats and hot beverages, find your way in the Snowflakery winter mirror maze and encounter penguins. You’ll love the beautiful tunnel of blue lights, be sure to grab a quick photo, it’s gorgeous!
When is Christmas at the Zoo?
Christmas at the Zoo for 2018 is held November 23 – December 23 & December 26 – 30. The Indianapolis Zoo opens daily at noon. Christmas at the Zoo festivities are 5 – 9 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 5-10 p.m. Friday-Saturday!
