Thai Orchid is a great example of this. Thai food is so delicious and the spice levels can be as hot as you can stand if spicy food is your thing. Pad Thai is a great place to start if you have never had Thai food before. We love to curry, dumplings, and spring rolls or salad rolls. Thai Orchid has all of these things and more! Don’t forget to try the Thai Sweet Tea.
Oasis Diner

Oasis is a retro diner and perfect for a throwback style of date night. Oasis Diner was established in 1954 and the atmosphere will give you nostalgic feelings from your childhood. This historic landmark cannot be missed! You will find all of the American classics here including an amazing tenderloin. Indulge in the hand dipped ice cream or in house baked goods.
Nigh Brewing Company

Nigh Brewing Company has moved into the old Black Swan location in Plainfield. They are serving up refreshing craft beers and diverse menu in a contemporary atmosphere. Things like southwestern egg rolls, buffalo cauliflower wrap, and specialty mac and cheese grace the menu. If beer isn’t your thing, the brewing company also serves bourbon.
Stone Creek Dining Company

Stone Creek is the perfect location for an upscale date night. Part of CRG Dining, Stone Creek is in the same family of restaurants as Mesh, Union 50, Vida, Livery, and many more. Brew Link Brewing

Brew Link knows what they are doing when it comes to craft beer. You definitely need to check out their can art as well. The names and designs on the cans are so fun and different. The beers here are beyond unique and also just plain good. Brew Link’s atmosphere is a mix of industrial and rustic giving your date night a casual fun vibe. You can eat inside or out here. Grab a flight of beers and a flatbread to share. The experimental beers will give you and your date plenty to chat about.
Outdoor Activities
Sodalis Nature Park

Beautiful scenery will surround you at Sodalis Nature Park. Take a hike around the lake and enjoy the peace and quiet. There are 3.5 miles of trails. Take time to notice the rock features and small waterfall. Bring a picnic to share to extend your stay. There are picnic tables throughout the park or just bring a blanket. Plenty of wildlife lives in the nature park so keep your eyes peeled.
Hummel Park
1500 S. Center Street, Plainfield
Hummel Park is a large park with a variety of amenities available. This park is truly beautiful and sits on 205-acres. There are plenty of walking paths here. You can find a stream, little bridges, plenty of wide open spaces, and ample picnic spots throughout the park. There is also a disc golf course near the other ball fields.
The Shops at Perry Crossing

If you would rather shop while strolling with your loved one, check out The Shops at Perry Crossing. This open air mall has plenty of shops to browse and some excellent restaurant choices including Stone Creek and Bru Burger. For added fun check out Rocket Fizz and pick up some classic candies or interesting bottled sodas. You can also check out the newest movies at the AMC Perry Crossing 18 which is a huge movie theater.
Friendship Gardens Park

This park is a perfect location for adding romance to any date. Friendship Gardens is a 13-acre garden park. There is a beautiful stone waterfall, a three room gazebo pavilion, trails to explore, and a historic iron truss bridge. The quiet peaceful atmosphere will create the perfect opportunity for you to connect with your date.
Vandalia Trail

For those living out in or near Plainfield, the Vandalia Trail is the perfect place to stretch your legs and get some exercise. This trail runs all throughout Plainfield and will connect you with plenty of shops and restaurants. This trail runs for about 4 miles and is a great way to spend some time with your date biking, jogging, or just going for a leisurely stroll. You will travel through woodlands, a tunnel and bridges as you make your way along the path.

I love uPaint Pottery for a date because you don’t have to sign up for a class to participate. You can stop in during open studio hours and pick out the projects that you and your date would like to work on. There are so many choices in type of project, paint colors and designs. The staff is wonderful and will gladly help you narrow down the choices and give you any painting advice you may need. After your pieces have been fired in the kiln, you can pick up your finished projects.
Sky Zone Trampoline Park

You may be thinking to yourself, Sky Zone is for kids. Well, it is time to live it up like the kids do and jump on more trampolines than you can count. Sky Zone is so fun for all ages and is another amazing way to include physical activity during date night. On Fridays and Saturdays, the facility is open until 11pm, giving you plenty of time to get your jumps in. For added fun check out one of their Glow events typically on the weekends.
