Description:
Explore the wonders of the night sky at McCloud Nature Park’s monthly Astronomy Presentation & Public Stargaze. The evening begins with a half-hour night-sky orientation at 7:00 PM inside the Nature Center. Afterwards, step outside for a stargazing session guided by members of the Indiana Astronomical Society (weather permitting).
Visitors will have the chance to look through telescopes set up by IAS members and park staff to see planets, constellations, and faint celestial objects. This event is designed for beginners and families, but experienced astronomers are welcome, too.
Good to Know:

IAS members bringing telescopes should arrive at 6:30 PM.

Sunset is at 6:52 PM.

Bring your own telescope and manual if you’d like help learning how to use it.

Experienced IAS members will be on hand to answer questions about astronomy and equipment.

Dress warmly and be prepared to walk out to the observing field.
